Best Fried chicken?

There used to be a place called Woodwards, in Spartanburg.....and then CJ's.
I think a fire got Woodwards, and COVID got CJ's.
What is the best fried chicken spot in Anderson/Greenville/Spartanburg now, in your opinion?
For tailgating, I do love piping hot Bojangles....my heart and arteries on the other hand....
Go Tigers.

I agree. We go to Golden Corral for the buffet breakfast once in a while and I sometimes grab some chicken if they have started putting it out. It’s pretty good.

I have pretty much eliminated all seed oils from my diet (seed oils are horrible for you, cause cancer and are highly inflammatory) so this is a touchy topic. My favorite was bojangles but I fry my own now at home in coconut oil and I have perfected it. You don’t tell the difference in oil but you feel much better after eating it.

I was getting ready to say...wherever you can find it cooked in beef tallow!

I guess maybe coconut oil is ok! But I won't knowingly eat anything cooked in seed oils!
Supposedly, Popeyes cooks mostly in beef tallow, but I saw somewhere that they still use some seed oils, so buyer beware.
Also, Buffalo Wild Wings is supposed to be using beef tallow now.

I haven't tried Dave's yet but they were just purchased by private equity that owns Subway. Subway sucks IMO so I hope they don't end up like them.

The best fried chicken I've had was from OJ's Diner in Greenville. Second best might've been the country fried chicken from Earle Street in Anderson.

If we're talking hot chicken (it gets its own category), it's gotta be Hattie B's in Atlanta or Rocky's Hot Chicken in Greenville.

Wades is pretty good.
Wade’s or Mama Penn’s in Anderson are both solid choices for fried chicken. Bonus is the excellent veggie choices

I really like the chicken fingers from Carolina Fine Foods. ( I think that’s what the restaurant is called. It’s either called “Carolina Fine Foods” or “Carolina Fast Foods”.)
I also like the already made popcorn chicken from Walmart. You can just go to the deli section and order an already made container of popcorn chicken.

If you find yourself headed for the mountains on Hwy 321, make sure you're hungry as you come into Hickory. Go west on Hwy 70 for a couple of blocks and Mountain Fried Chicken will be on the left. Yum, Yum, eatum up.

I like the fried chicken on the buffet at Mutt’s BBQ in Easley. Not crazy about the other stuff on the buffet but the chicken is pretty good.

Obviously KFC. They sell more strange chicken pieces than anyone in the world. But I will admit when they stopped selling chicken gizzards, it was a huge step back. Anybody who tried them knows they were great.
