Next season
Just like I think it's tough to win without the portal
I think it's harder to win with 85% of your starters coming from the portal
I think FSU’s qb and OL combo are going to fall on hard times this year.
And they are going to be depending on a mixmatch of portal hoppers and freshman on defense.

Finding 5 losses on their schedule is going to be tough. But if its going to happen...
@ SMU
Clemson
@ Miami
@ Notre Dame
Those could be realistic losses
Finding the 5th would have to come from either UNC or Florida. Both of which I think are Ws for FSU.

Not saying these are sure losses but I would add the following as potential stumbling blocks
GT in Ireland to start the season
UNC (as you said)
Florida - I see this one as a true toss up
Then, you can bet they are going to field their practice squad in the bowl game and they will have a pretty good shot of losing that depending on the opponent

FSU won't have a 6th-year QB deep into their system like Jordan Travis helping lead the way with all the new faces and transfers. This team leadership gap will cost them in 2024 IMO to the tune of 3-4 losses.

I’m going higher with 5 losses, I think they stink it up and the one’s being paid enter the portal with the money or go on a Wells injury to save their ability to get another year getting paid.
The portal isn’t going to get better!

it is much more difficult to take new players and develop them in to a new team with new schemes. It is much simpler and less effort to return the same players, no matter how well or poorly they played the year before, and warm over the same schemes and plays of the year before hoping for a better result due to development and experience.

No way. Have you not seen the portal players they once again bringing in. Several from Alabama. They opening up the pocket book to try to buy another ACC trophy. They will be up there again unless DJ lays an egg for them like he did for us.

I think that's really wishful thinking. I think they'll be a good team. Not as good as they were this past season, but they won't fall off a cliff.
Of their projected starters on defense, eight were on the roster last season.
Of their projected starters on offense, eight were on the roster last season.
So, they aren't replacing most of their starters with transfer portal guys.
