Why would Putin care about or fight the "Deep State"?

And how does invading Ukraine have anything to do with the "Deep State"?
To believe stuff like this one must detach themselves from logic and reality.

the right of Attila the Hun BUT... there is a certain segment on the right (Bannon and his crew, Carslon, Cernovich etc...) who are just taking a dimwitted view of this whole Russia vs Ukraine issue. They are allowing their inherent distrust of the "MSM", "Deep State", and RINO Neo-Cons to blind them from thinking critically and understanding what/who Putin is, the history of Ukraine that has led to current events, and that the Russians are most definitely the bad guy in this war.
Too many are simply parroting overly simplistic BS talking points like "Ukraine is corrupt" as justification to equate both Russia and Ukraine as equally "bad". They parrot this "Ukraine is corrupt" narrative without any real context or understanding of the long history between Ukraine and Russia - especially since the Russian Communists annexed Ukraine into the Soviet Union in 1921. Never mind that the corruption that existed and still lingers in Ukraine is heavily influenced by their time as a Soviet State and like Russia has had an oligarch problem feeding that corruption since declaring independence in 1991. Never mind that since Putin came to power over 20 years ago he has constantly interfered in Ukrainian politics and fed his brand of Russian corruption through funded proxy movements and proxy politicians throughout Ukraine.
Instead, these "Ukraine is corrupt" purveyors simply like to dismiss and attribute the 2014 Ukrainian revolution as an Oliver Stone MSM/State Department conspiracy ignoring the actual facts of that uprising. Here's a hint - it wasn't just a bunch of media driven Ukrainian radicals that ran Putin's puppet (Yanukovich) over to mother Russia for asylum. Nope it was a movement of the young and old, from every religion and political background. The one thing they all had in common was a desire for Ukraine to join the western European community and to finally be free of Russia's corrupting influence.
I find the hypocrisy astounding at how the same people who praised the "Freedom Convoy" in Canada can so easily dismiss the Ukrainian uprising (which was way larger, lasted way longer, and resulted in Ukrainians dying to standup for their freedom) as a joint MSM/deep state operation. The truth is that it was a genuine grass roots uprising that was driven by the people finally saying "enough". The Ukrainian people wanted to be free to make their own choice of national association, free of Putin and Russia, and to have a country free from the systemic corruption that was so intertwined with their Russian relationships. So what happened two months after February 2014 when the Ukrainian people ran Putin's puppet out of town in a sign they were changing their nations destiny? Putin invaded Crimea and has sponsored a war in the Donbas region ever since.
So no, Putin is not the good guy here. The Ukrainian people chose freedom in 2014 and have continued to support that trend by electing a political outsider in 2019 (i.e. Zelensky) whose platform was "anti-corruption". The Ukrainian people have made a real demonstration of their yearning to be a free country that meets Western Democratic ideals and to simply say "Ukraine is corrupt" is a lazy and pathetic response that ignores what has been going on. The Russians and Ukrainians are two distinct peoples with their own languages (which the Russians have spent the last 300 years trying to stamp out) and to cast them aside as really being Russian ignores history.
Finally, it is really sickening to see the misplaced idolizing of Putin by some because they view Putin as a "deep state" slayer that speaks out against "wokeness". This akin to saying Hitler wasn't all bad because he made the trains run on time and improved Germany's pre-war economy. It is a simpletons take and ignores the basic facts that Putin is a product of his KGB upbringing, hates the USA, and is a despicable totalitarian unworthy of any American's admiration or support.

the motivations of Carlsons and Bannons and the like. I don't think it's ignorance of history, or distrust of the MSM and the desire to buck whatever they say. Carlson has a natural inclination to protect and defend the oligarch system; I don't think he particularly sees the world as borders and nations (except when it's convenient to make a point to his FOX audience). He sees it as "haves" and "have-nots", and I think he believes its his duty to protect the "haves". He is the opposite of the everyman, commoner persona that he has built over the past few years on his primetime spot, and his decades of quotes prior to that certainly bear that out.
Bannon...he's just a nationalist and a not-so-closeted racist, and he likely actually admires what Putin is doing and how he's doing it. I'm pretty certain he wanted Trump to do similar things domestically.
Those are two very indecent people who are skillfully crafting their reasons for singing Putin praises, imo, and manipulating large swaths of people in the process.
