If you want BB fired then you are not being fair to him

Feb 19, 2013, 2:29 PM

First off, he is a fine coach. Yeah he lacks the talent he needs to compete at a high level but his coaching skills are for real. I say have him hire a big time recruiter or something to remedy this or have him go get pointers from dabo. If he can recruit a little better, Clemson could compete with anyone.

He has shown with moderate talent, that he can give some of the best teams in the country fits. imagine if he had all the pieces.

Let the man be and just help him succeed.

OP didnt have great talent either, but we still were pretty good. We made the Tourny several times, and were ranked high as number 3. As much as i like BB, he is not the savior of Clemson basketball. We dont need a good X's and O's coach, we need a miracle.

OP ran a gimmick scheme that could be run with less skilled, more athletic players, which is easier to recruit. Do you remember how the season ended when we were ranked number 3? OP ran our program in the ground in the end. That's why he left.

Brownell should be given 2 more years. By then, maybe the people calling for his head will have a leg to stand on. But not yet.

What Clemson coach has had the talent?

Feb 19, 2013, 4:19 PM

We get a good player every now and again and other players turn out to be pretty good after 3-4 years, but honestly what talent have really ever had here since Campbell and Davis?

I posted this the other..to me the big question is why can't Clemson get good players that want to come play here? Why can't we ever get a player who has a nice looking jump shot and can shoot from anywhere on the court. Oglesby was the last pure shooter I can think of and before that I can't remember. But yet these mid-major schools have 2-4 guys starting on every team that can shoot lights out. Why can't we get 1 of those players..ever? We've tried our approach for years now in the ACC and with the short term exception with OP we typically aren't competitive. Sure we are tough at home but most teams are. We have to go into every season hoping to steal 1-2 games on the road while also hoping to not lose at home. You just can't survive that way.

I don't have the answers and I'm not trying to bash the coaches or the team but this has been a problem long before BB got here.
