This Eagle nest on live cam. Jackie and Shadow are the two Eagles who will attempt to raise a family this year. They were unsuccessful last year. You can follow them 24/7 on live nest cam in Big Valley, California.

Back when I was working I kept close track of the eagles at Shorter College. Kinda lost interest after I retired. Been watching the webcam in SW Florida this year. It's fun.

Thanks for the link.

I like this cam the best. Watched it all last year. The view from the nest is also great. They had 4 0r 5 feet of snow last year and Jackie stayed on the nest as the snow covered her completely up.

There used to be a Hilton Head Island eagle nest cam...

but two years ago the two eaglets got sick and fell out of the nest. Sadly, the eaglets could not be saved and both would later die. The two adult eagles (Harriet and Mitch) abandoned the nest. It is unknown what happened to them.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

The federal wildlife folks will not allow any any interference by any one now wild life officials with the nest, eggs or the eaglets or the adults. The cameras there have an ultra ultra violent lens that brightens the nest at night but there is no light that the eagles can see. The nest is in the top of the pine tree. Forgot the height but I think is at least 100 feet high.

I have been following Jackie and Shadow for a few years now...

Jackie laid her first egg of 2024 last Thursday and her second egg just yesterday.

Unfortunately, last yeas 2023 egg did not hatch, so the egg eventually got buried in the nest and disintegrated or partially consumed by ravens.

The 2022 egg produced a healthy eaglet (Spirit) that would eventually fledge the nest which was, honestly, one of the coolest things I have ever seen.

If you want to follow Jackie and Shadow, there are two options. There is a Facebook group and a separate web page. If you just want to periodically check-out the live nest cams, the web page is your best option. If you want to read the most current updates, the Facebook page is generally updated more regularly than the web page.

Thank you for adding that info. I don't do facebook, so this my option. But I love watching this nest.
