I got the biggest thing I wanted to accomplish done.
I've spent the last 7 months building projects, and working on the supply chain to be able to make ordering my line of tables as easy as possible. As it stands now, I've launched online ordering and I've built a system to handle enough production to take me through the next year. This wasn't an easy lift, but having the infrastructure in place now means I can handle 25x the volume from this year with ease.
As RH Tig will tell you, the work is more Art than anything else. But, I've decided to sell a line of semi-custom tables (choose from a set size, wood species, and leg style) with a lower price point (I was able to drop prices by almost $1000 from fully custom work) and a faster turnaround (dropping the turnaround time from 10 weeks to 6)
Here's the link to the collection: https://3grackles.com/products/streamline-collection
Feel free to AMA about how I got all of it set up.

If you can do that, let me know where you get the epoxy.

Read the website enough to see that you will allow people to pick out a slab. Do you have a specific sawmill you get slabs from? I wonder if there is any value in offering a service where people bring you a slab, from trutsed sources of course, and offer a small discount on that.
Do you see in the future using dimensional lumber instead of these live edge slabs, thus having a way you could sell someone a coffee table with truly matching end tables or something?

Paypal is a shopify thing.

But to answer your questions - I have four sawmills within 30 minutes, and I use them to source different options.
Bringing the slab isn't going to be something I want to do, because I can't account for moisture content, etc. and I don't do kiln drying on site. Additionally, that' just extra storage on site, which is inventory holding costs.
I already can match coffee and end tables by using pieces from the same tree, and I have access to dimensional lumber at the saw mills. It's much more of a creative decision to not do much with dimensional lumber, as I've optimized for the live edge work flow.

dredged from the depths of the Mookalah River in Zanzibar that were left from a 16th century mahogany shipwreck that sunk in the river when attacked by the Oingoboingo tribal elders after a violent yam dispute. This led to the infamous Yam Rebellion of 1536 in Zanzibar. Own a beautiful part of history!!!

I'll be able to say I saw the willki empire when it was just starting out and crammed into a tiny suburban garage, LOL. It's very true...this is art maybe more so than anything. Y'all really ought to see some of the pieces in person because it's amazing stuff and it gets made in spite of RH Tig showing up and dragging willki around Austin to every dive bar and music venue in town.

Congrats. I love to watch the videos where makers are doing this type of work.
So, question on the finish, are you using anything like a ceramic coat on it? One guy on YT does this and is now selling it just wondered if it is worth doing. TIA.

Even though it's overkill, I do use the ceramic coat now.

It adds about $40 to the cost per table, but in terms of how much better it makes them last, it's worth it for me to do it.
Working on talking with a vendor about options for my own, but that'll happen after I get the Youtube stuff up and running.
