Just like NASCAR and now college football.
Honeybees are no longer willing to just show up and pollinate your beans, corn, squash, watermelons, cukes, tomatoes, etc. You have to attract them with sunflowers, perennials, petunias, etc.
Honeybees have gone NIL!
The sight of flowers growing in the vegetable garden would send my father to his grave if he wasn't already there.

My father used to plant marigolds around outside of the garden, supposed to repel the unwanted bugs. I know he really made sure he had them on ends of tomato rows and he grew great tomatoes.

Totally agree. I have very little fruit in my garden because there are no bees. Also, the butterflies have disappeared too.

Get your little paint brushes out and pollenate the flowers. Works like a champ. I grow tomatoes on my screenporch and I have to self pollenate since no bugs get in screen room.

I don't have any problem getting my trees pollinated. Plant the correct species in the correct order and the wind pollinate. Do not need the bees.

It's almost like having pesticides sprayed over everything in the world has effected the be population and is bad for business. I don't know though. I'll need to do my own research...

Yeah, my neighborhood is full of entitled imbeciles who hire these mosquito companies to spray their entire property and kill everything because they're too lazy to put on citronella oil. I have a couple citronella plants on each of our decks, and have a bottle nearby, and I have no problems with mosquitoes. These clowns don't know or don't care the chemicals kill pollinators as well as mosquitoes

Well, my did is allergic to all stinging bees. He will go into anaphylactic shock if stung. If bees come on my property, they end up dead. I still have a great garden, great pecan orchard, and great fruit trees. The only bees I see are dead ones. My jack ### neighbor put out a bunch of honey bee boxes knowing my son is allergic. His bees all die pretty regular.

Thanks for the info on paint brush pollinating. I'll certainly try that next year.

i can't keep pollinating these things manually. I;m too old and can't keep it up. Gotta try some of that Frank Thomas stuff. maybe that will help.

All that paint brushing is a young man's game. There's a point in life where you just want to show up for the main event.
Oughta be entitled to some proper pollination without prompting it.

This past weekend. Sound like open ports issue with all the stowaway harmful insects in and around containers not helping.
