If Clemson and FSU stay

where does that leave the big 12?
If swofford had half a brain he could crush the sec and big 12 bowl deal.
Go to fsu, v tech and clemson and make a deal. Then turn around and go after the big 12 teams or atleast one. Then go after ND.
Where would that leave the big12? How good would that bowl game be???
Who could the big 12 get now to join that league???
Remember this is the same Conf. that was on life support this time last year. But I did say if swofford had half a brain.

Big 12 just signed 13 year grant of rights...

they are solid...
After CU/FSU officially announce, and if they pull off ND, they may very well be the "premiere" football conference.

If the ACC raided the Big 12 it would just be about

semantics. I don't want to be in the same conference as Kansas and Iowa State no matter what you call it.
The ACC can expand, in my opinion, in Florida and in the northeast. The stretch that would be worth the geographic misfit is Notre Dame. Otherwise, it's back to the Big East market.

The B12 almost has to expand

a significant part of their TV package is a conference championship game. With only 10 teams, thats not muc content for their TV partners each week. If they can get 2 big boys then they are sitting pretty. If they don't get premier football playing schools, I would be worried about their future.
With only 10 schools, I doubt they can reasonably fill their bowl tie-ins with the current nubmer of teams.

nothing of note to the west except BYU, Air Force, and other Mountain West-type teams.
Their only options are east and north east.

Big 12 is going to sign their new contract with or without FSU and Clemson.
If we dont go they will prob grab there fall backs IE Louisville and Cinci.
We are going anyway though so it doesnt really matter.

Everything I said there was opinion based off of information received from others. So yes I will "keep telling my self that".
You can keep rubbing your ACC pendant telling yourself everything will be okay and we are not going to leave behind our blue bellied cheating scum from North Carolina if you would like. That is just fine with me.
As of today there is more evidence supporting my theory.

Louisville and Cinci would allow them to link to WVU geographically.
It would also get them to the magic number 12 and put in a Conference Championship game which is big money.
Louisville isnt exactly chop liver since Papa Johns started pumping money into their program. I have started following them a little closer due to my soon to be wife being form Louisville and being a Cards fan.
Their Basketball arena is world class (just completed last year) I went to a game there this year and it is amazing. Their football stadium is relatively new with room to expand. Also currently seats 55,000.
They are probably the favorites this year to win a weak Big East. Charlie Strong is a pretty good HC.
There is a decent chance that they end up in the Big 12 if it goes to 14 anyway. Could be them or GT.

I think louisville would be a good fit for the acc if everybody leaves but I know of no one that gets all worked up over their football program.
They should win the weak east nobody left to play

There is actually a decent amount of pride for Louisville around the city. I didnt know about it until I started visiting up there a few years ago.
Their average attendance the past two years has been around 50k. Which isnt awful. That would put them at 7th in the ACC above UVA, but behind FSU Clemson VT GT NC State and UNC.
UNC NC State and GT are all the the 50-56k range so its not a huge disparity.

That's why they belong in the ACC and they are a basketball school First.
I don't want to go to the big12 but if swofford doesn't do something soon to cool all this crap. I'll pack my bags.

That is correct but so is Kansas... I dont think having a Basketball school in a conference is a completely bad thing as long as they are at least trying in Football. Duke should be kicked out of the ACC in Football due to their obvious not giving a crap about it and not even trying.

"If swofford had half a brain..."?

If swofford had half a brain he would agree to give the football programs that bring in 80% of the revenues a reasonable compensation package. It would call for unequal revenue sharing and if the others didn't like it they could go to the gat dang big twelve!

Or at least allow the Football schools to keep more of their Bowl Payouts.

Perhaps that is what the advisory committee was for.
