Jimmy was on a trip out west. Got stopped at one of these in BFE Utah, which sounds like pretty much all Utah but no this was the BFE of the Utah. It was Jimmy, about half a mile of 1 one lane bridge, and the other side. Nada. Solid red. Not just for Jimmy, but the other side too. We wait. We wait. Nothing. Probably about 8ish minutes goes by which doesn't sound like alot but keep in mind BFE Utah runs on the Inception Three Levels Deep time zone. Jimmy finally says eff it and like Moses leading the Jews to the foot of the mountain, Jimmy leads his line of cars across the bridge to the other side where the stunned faces of the other wanderers greeted us like conquering heroes.

they had one of these at the bottom of Fort Hill. I stopped on red. And waited and waited and waited. Ran that red light after about three minutes. No cars coming the other way or down the hill.
This tech sucks.

pushs a button. They basically replaced 3 with one and 2 machines.
The construction at this double intersection is going to be a nightmare for months.

red light encounters when no one is on the roads is just a test by the gods to see if you're the type of person to let this emission of photons determine your life's path.
I love reading another human conquering these artificially crafted control measures when there's a logical solution that allows everyone to live peacefully.

So young guys willing to stand for hours directing traffic to make a living are 'mouth breathers'?
I started out surveying road centerlines and grade points with transits, levels and steel tape. Am I a 'mouth breather' too, you condescending schmuck?

I’m surprised someone smart enough to do all that doesn’t know the difference.
The ones around here have 3 teeth, have reached the pinnacle of their vocation, and are a long way removed from being young guys.

The dudes are working, man, up to your pay grade or not. Don't blame them for idiotic traffic control, blame the idiots at DOT who tell them what to do from a desk in Columbia.
