Dabo has Dabo'd himself into a corner
Oct 28, 2021, 8:45 AM

When Dabo said this Daboism in 2015 he probably didn't think he would be Daboing Dabo with his own Daboism in 2021. Dabo described Saban very well in this statement though and that is what Bama is still near the top.

now you can just leave them sitting on that plant or let them fall to the ground, and when you do that you let the crows decide what your words are. Or you can take those seeds and spin them into a beautiful gray sweatshirt, so the whole world knows what's on your mind.

If Shipley is a blade of grass, will he be anxious about meeting Tommy Bowden this weekend? Or will Shipley perform like Centipede grass on steroids and run for 300 yds? This Daboism is fraught with uncertainty.

In the interview. He got interrupted and the topic was changed. I would like to hear the finish…

Well known business concept
Oct 28, 2021, 9:17 AM

Good to Great is a good read.
One of my favorited concepts in the book:
“Letting the wrong people hang around is unfair to all the right people, as they inevitably find themselves compensating for the inadequacies of the wrong people. Worse, it can drive away the best people. Strong performers are intrinsically motivated by performance, and when they see their efforts impeded by carrying extra weight, they eventually become frustrated.”

Some dude names Quint Studer blatantly stole stuff out of that book and made millions spinning it to customize into healthcare settings. MUSC was one of the big proponents of all that crap.
Our good doctor in here should be happy that Studer made an entire industry of how to kiss up to Doctors to make sure they get whatever they want.

that was growing and expanding like crazy. Eventually they went after a heavy hitter as President... Bill Thomason. He was previously over IBM for the whole USA. Yeah, you read that right. Anyway, I overheard a comment he sorta made in passing to the HR hiring manager...
"We're swimming in the ocean, and every hire you make is either a life vest or an anchor."
I've never forgotten that.
Clemson man, too. I didn't know that until I just now read his obit.

We had a saying "hire slow and fire fast"
Oct 28, 2021, 12:42 PM

which means make sure the new guy/gal fits your culture, etc., but once you decide that someone is not cutting it, fire them - you're gonna fire them anyway, and it is better for you AND them to do that quicker.

If Dabo doesn't make some major changes to something regarding the offense at the end of this season, we've got bigger problems than we thought. But he's made such changes before so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt... until it doesn't happen.

They will change including assistant coaches as necessary and rooster management. But the super elite status is always hard to attain.
Clemson FB is in a better place today than 15 years ago. I would bet that Dabo can revitalize and reinvent Clemson football after this year’s slump.
