Not necessarily! He thought he had a plan this time, as they had worked on preparing Wes for BV’s departure. After seeing how that worked, I believe he knows better and will hire outside for a proven coordinator like he did with Garrett Riley.

at the time 4 of those 5 were from within at that time.
at one time BV was the highest paid coordinator in the country............I believe Riley is one of the top paid OCs in the country..............Go out.....pay the money and make a "BV" / "Jim Knowles" type of hire.

when they weren’t delivering results. I haven’t dove deep enough but someone else pointed out the internal hires were made after someone left on their own as opposed to being fired. When he has fired someone he has gone outside to hire their replacement.
If Wes is let go I’m willing to bet it will be an outside hire that he has been in contact with. And like most other hires it will probably be a surprise to most of Tnet, except DavidHood® who is hiding in the bushes somewhere. Stay warm DHood! 🌲 🕵️♂️

He only seems to promote within when coaches leave on their own accord. If he fires someone he goes and gets a proven guy from the market to replace and rebuild.

doing things his old way. Who can blame him, he won 2 NC's and played for 2 more. However, it just seems to me he's changing a little. He fired Streeter and went outside for his replacement. He fired Austin and got a proven commodity in Luke. Now he's signed a couple of top guys from the portal after supposedly looking at a couple last year.

Yes, because that’s completely been the trend everytime he’s promoted from within and it didn’t work, and he had to replace them. You know, guys like Garrett Riley and Matt Luke. Those two homegrown talents.

No he wont, if the defense had been good this year you could justify this, but this defense is a total trainwreck , disaster, etc. You cannot promote anyone from this epic fail of a defense this year! he has gone outside many times before to make changes and this time will be no different. Having said all this, I am not sure he will actually make a change just listening to his tone in interviews. It is hard to imagine that he can bring goodwin back but we will see.
