How good is Appalachian State?

Some continue to knock our first two games (Wofford and App. State), but on second look, it appears that App. State could turn out to be a very good win. They're currently 6-1 with their closest 2 wins being by 18 points. They're absolutely dominating the rest of their schedule, and they've already beaten the 2nd best team in their conference (GA Southern). I'd be surprised if they don't finish 11-1 (and possibly ranked around 25th) at the end of the season.
In addition, the College Football Composite Rankings (found here: http://www.masseyratings.com/cf/compare.htm ) have App. State at 36th, which is very respectable. For comparison, TCU and Baylor's best 2 wins (Texas Tech and West Virginia) are both ranked several spots lower.
The Playoff Committee is supposedly very data-driven, so I'm sure they'll give us a lot more credit for the App. State win than the analysts at ESPN, CBS, etc. are currently giving us.

Temple or Houston who are both ranked. I expect them to be ranked by the end of the season. I think they're already in the top 35.
