Richardson's Snub
Dec 25, 2016, 9:42 AM

After Fridays announcement I checked various sites around and found some interesting chatter coming out of LSU country. He will not qualify and it will be Memphis or the JU-CO rout for him. Can this be confirmed by any one else out there?

BGL...anyone ever told you you ain't got no soul? (kidding).
Possibly that, but my first reaction was that coaches with an agenda told him that the Tigers were headed toward more passing with the logjam of QBs headed to Clemson, and he may be utilized as a blocking back.....better go to Tennessee or wherever the coaches wanted him to go.

but you have to blame the coaches for putting all of our eggs in a basket that they knew had the possibility of not qualifying. And they've been in that one basket for quite some time. Now, no chance for a comparable running back in this class. A big oops.

The article David linked indicated the coaches at his HS were fixing grades and he won't qualify. I hope the kid gets his grades right and get to enjoy college and maybe he still does it here. Let's hope but at this point he won't make any power 5 if the article is any indication.

I say leave swift alone. Use that open scholarship to attack another position. We will have feaster, fuller, and choice next year. Let's go after white and Dexter's little brother.

That would not be a bad thing if true
Dye and Choice and upperclassman who are not going to play much
They have a much better chance at a Georgia State or something like that
I think one (not both) are probably headed out
However, having it Tavean , CJ Fuller, 2017 true freshman as the top 3 should be fine
We've clearly been RB heavy with not enough reps to go around
This sets us up for selling a bunch of playing time to Zamir White as a early enrollee true fr
In a pinch, Ray Ray played some RB in HS and could be a scat back type fill in

I figured one would leave. But we are in good position to pick up 2 running backs in 2018. I pray we get white. But you got to figure we have Lawrence. Looking at his highlights dude is a stud. Could you imagine on jumbo packages big Dex blocking for his little brother.

have to respectfully disagree.
1st, Choice seems to still be nursing/favoring that hurt knee. And for what it's worth- IMO- He isn't "back".
While Fuller IMPROVED, nothing leads U to believe he's anywhere close to being the featured back.
Dye-Just seems to be buying his time.
And then theres Feaster; The coaches say, He needs to play faster..really. Maybe so, but with only 34 carries. He was 2nd on the team in rushing-At RB. And avg 6.1 yds per carry. Every indication is he's the future.
Then there's DeAndre Swift- for what it's worth...he looks better on film than Zamir White. Bigger, stronger and faster. And runs hard. So sure... if we can get Swift....we need to.

247 projected him to FSU a couple of years ago so that has nothing to do with the current situation

Yeah they're a couple threads on this since it broke. Sounds like he was given the opportunity to get his grades up and didn't. Ur right if that happened then we cut em lose. As y'all said- good way to cya.
If he ends up at fsu I'd b extremely suspicious of what went down.

Don't know if anyone remembers

my initial post about Cordarrian when he was showing a lot of love towards Clemson.....But the crux of it was that he was hailing from Trezevant HS in Memphis...The site of the huge scandal involving Albert Means and one of his Trezevant coaches who was shopping the #1 player in the country to anyone willing to pony up. No less than 6 SEC schools were implicated in the bidding process plus MichSt. Alabama, of course, eventually won the right to get multiple years on NCAA probation
But there was also a huge scandal at Trezevant itself (also involving grade changing) and numerous people got fired including, I believe, the entire football staff
Sounds as though Trezevant has yet another scandal on its hands

Schools are going to be WAY leery of recruiting a kid from that school ever again. The Means thing tainted that school pretty much for all time; this grade-fixing thing puts them in the Massive Repeat Offender category and casts another permanent pall over the entire institution. It's going to be REAL tough for any kid coming out of that high school to get a fair look going forwards.
Hate it for the kids. They're the real losers here when the adults who should know better have no boundaries.

In HS, it is the adults responsibility to set the standards, communicate the standards, and give the students feedback on whether or not they are achieving the standards. If CR thought he was doing what he supposed to, then it's not his fault. Even if he knew shenanigans were happening, I still hold the adults to a higher level of responsibility.

If he was totally oblivious, then I would agree
Dec 25, 2016, 7:54 PM

that it wasn't his fault, but total oblivion raises some serious questions in and of itself. If he was aware of "shenanigans", however, then he shares accountability and blame.
