I think they should give him at least 5 or 6 more seasons.

It takes time to build a dominant program. Muschamp is clearly a perfect fit for the SCar culture. Hope they aren't too quick to pull the trigger.

It has been foretold in the ancient prophecy of the douche-ocalypse.

My fav is the guy calling the A&M game an "easy loss"

Sep 23, 2017, 7:40 PM

Seems that some of them are hoping for them to lose so that they can fire Muschamp as soon as possible.

Hiring someone else right now would be wrong.

Sep 23, 2017, 7:44 PM

It takes five to seven years to straighten out a program that is in such bad shape as USuCk was when they hired him. SOS really screwed them dry when he destroyed those two recruiting classes.

They need to show up for games and show a little more patients if they want to improve their program. If they want to fire someone they should start with Tanner. That or put him back on the diamond.

I've heard all the talk about Spurrier's recruiting

Sep 23, 2017, 8:08 PM

and how he left them without any talent, but Spurrier's last two recruiting classes still ranked in the top 20 (using Rivals). During the 3 years when they won 11 games their recruiting classes were ranked around 15-20, and they were ranked 16th in 2014 and 19th in 2015. The 2010 recruiting class that made up the core of their roster when they were winning 11 games was only ranked 24th.

It seems like the whole argument about Spurrier leaving them without any talent is more of an excuse than anything else. They obviously weren't very successful in developing their talent, but the talent has been there nonetheless.

Re: I've heard all the talk about Spurrier's recruiting

You're exactly right here. And on top of that Spurrier never did really "recruit" the in-state talent that he wound up with. Other than Alshon Jeffrey the rest were really more "gifted" to the program than anything else. Spurrier's situation in cooterville was as much being in the right place at the right time as it was his coaching and/or recruiting. The difference in the mindset down there now is that the fans have tasted "success" & somehow convinced themselves that it's the norm that they will "get back" to.
