Computer Illiterate

A high percentage of the time, when I log onto T-Net, a box pops up saying, Internet Explorer has stopped working. Also in the box, it says, a problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. For some reason, this only happens when I'm logged onto T-Net. The box has a button to click to close the program and I lose where I was on T-Net. Any help would be obliged!!

I must confess that starting in 95 and for 9 years dealt with frustration of being computer illiterate . Going on 8 years now, Apple has given me no and I mean 0 issues. I'm still computer illiterate though!

Apple is great for people because they dumb down everything and give you few options. They charge out the ### for this but some people seem to like it.

Then why are other computer makers trying to copy Apple type products? If you are happy with the problems most people have with PC type computers, stay with them. Apple will survive.

Nope, not confusing anything here. When Microsoft came out with Windows 8 they were moving their OS more to a Mac type scenario. Certainly windows has the PC market locked up and that is one of the reasons that Apple has been so successful. In my case, I use Microsoft Office on my Mac and IPad simply because I am used to it and it works fine. With PC type computers, you have to be aware of viruses, etc. and with a Mac that problem is non existent. Lastly, their is no confusion "with the phone and tablet market with the computer market" as you stated. The IPad is a computer and I can do anything on it that I can do on my Mac. Spreadsheets in Excel are an adventure, but they can be done. Additionally, the IPad can be used as a tablet type computer if you so desire. I do a lot of genealogy work and I carry my IPad with me to take photos or to log in new data that I have discovered and that data is transferred over the "cloud" back to my master Mac computer at home. Very convenient and a time saver for me. PC's are fine. I used them for years but I have been a Mac user ever since Microsoft Millenium came out. Whatever a person prefers!

die hard Apple fans are and continue to have an outdated view on Microsoft and Windows devices.
There are viruses on OSx, they're becoming more and more popular as the hubris of Apple fanbois prevails. I haven't had a virus on a Windows machine since the first year of Windows XP and I've never used an anti-virus. Windows Vista & 7 came with Microsoft Security Essentials which is a free and very lightweight anti-virus and it has never even flagged a virus on my machine. And it's not because I don't use the Internet, I delve into places you've never heard of, do torrents, used limewire, and other peer shares and have never gotten a virus...
Windows 8 was revolutionary on its own, it was not copying the "Mac type scenario" like you believe. The metro interface is their own accord and they wrote the OS to be ubiquitous across PC and tablet. That's where it is failing though as Windows 8 sucks without a touch screen, but it isn't copying Apple.
I will agree that the iPhone & iPad are the best of their market and iOS is a solid mobile operating system (especially when jailbroken); however, OSx is a joke of an OS and is specifically designed for morons who don't know how to use a computer and don't ever care to learn.

I can tell you that Apple support is far superior to anything you can get from a PC manufacturer and they speak English. Options? I have Microsoft Office , OS updates actually work and improve the system. Every update I ever got on PC's caused issues. After several iMacs I went with the Mac mini for $500 and a huge HP monitor for practically nothing. If human error causes a lot of PC problems, I'm glad for the dumbing down Apple does for me.

Here is my old case....
I took a scroll saw and cut out the orange clear plexi Tiger paw by hand.
The orange on the paint is off though and I am using the HUGE case behind it right now while I work on getting the old one sanded.
And the other side of the case...
sorry for the awful pic quality here it is a really old picture.

And the cable mess is due to my PSU dying and grabbing a cheap one to get me through a short span before I upgraded to the new case.
My new cable management in the new case is much better.

I agree, and if you don't want to pay the price for a Mac, then get an IPad for around $500. One the best investments I have made. I use Firefox on both my Mac and IPad and it works really well.

Could be issues with what version of IE you are using. Also could be as simple as needing to clear your cache and history. I agree with a previous post that installing firefox or chrome could resolve. Best bet is to find a techie family member to provide some tech support. I think my parents and in-laws have me on permanent speed dial just for this. You could take it to best buy geek squad or another computer store for a tune-up but that will cost at least 100$ just for them to look at it.

I used AVG for 5 years, my computer had pisspoor performance, and my browsers constantly got hijacked or computer bluescreened all together. Being a College student and thinking that this was just the way it was I didn't know any better. Haven't had any of those problems with MSE.
