4 dulcolax tablets down the gullet. Have the miralax/gatorade mix prepared and ready to start working on that at 19:00. Going to be a fun night.

I turned 50 got a colonoscopy
May 8, 2022, 7:08 PM

they found stage 1 cancer. Surgery, which was 100 times worse than the colonoscopy, no chemo or radiation and cured. It's been almost 10 years now.
If I would have waited until symptoms showed up it would have been ugly.

I turned 45. I think they just started screening earlier.

I'm not too worried about the procedure itself. But yeah, if they find something, let's get it outta there. With insurance paying for 100% of this, there wasn't a reason to wait until 50 for me.

that I will be spending the rest of the night in my Nautica robe completely in the buff underneath. Come close at your own risk. The hallway bathroom is on permanent dibs. Anyone caught in there while I need it will have a surprise bucket waiting for them in their rooms when they get out.

That propofol hits quick and then next thing you know they're wheeling you out. No pain. No fuss.

You'll want to have your phone handy to record some of that.

She said it nearly blew the glass out of her Explorer. I think it did bulge out the door panels from the pressure spikes.

It's really one of the most enjoyable parts of the entire process to have a usually female nurse tell you to lie on your left side and fart away all you want. That never is encouraged at home.
The flatus produced is loud, sustained and has no odor. That alone makes the procedure worthwhile. Up for my 6th one next year based on a positive family history.

And you can hear other people in adjacent rooms and across the hall farting with equal gusto. Not knowing what to expect, wife of came back to recovery to comfort me after my first one many years ago. I have been on my own in recovery ever since.

Do it again in 5 years. The nurse in the recovery room told me to let ‘em rip when I needed to. I told her I’d probably need to sit on the toilet for what I was feeling. She said I was all clear and to let it go. There’s nothing funnier than locking eyes with a hottie nurse half your age and just letting a big one fly. It was spiritual.
