If you look up the origin of Tennessee Orange I believe it was chosen from the color of the center of the American Daisy which grew on the hill next to the Tennessee river. That color a deep yellow that leans and appears more orange in certain light I guess.

About 17 years ago the company I worked for gave us a choice of a Dodge Truck or a Van as our company vehicle and the color. In a moment when my brain malfunctioned I almost selected that Bright Yellow color but then I chose black. Good choice ! I realized how close my manager lived and realized that bright yellow would stick out like a coot loose. That Bright Yellow (‘definitely no Orange in that color ) would give me away when I would sneak off to play golf or go fishing even though we had a lot of freedom.
Maybe this Tenn. fan is color blind. He may think it’s close to Tenn Orange or the car salesman told him the vehicle paint would eventually fade to Tenn Orange. That thin air on Rocky Top has a weird affect on those Vols fan’s.
I am slightly out of it after my hand surgery Wednesday. If a dog bites you call your doctor and get started on antibiotics ASAP. Expensive valuable lesson learned. After looking at Spuds photo on second thought maybe the vehicle is Yellowish Orange. Those pain meds can do crazy things to your mind. 😂
