Best quote out of the entire article

Jun 18, 2012, 5:05 PM

Pruitt said that FSU and other schools were beginning to show interest in Morris, and that he was supposed to camp at Florida St. next week.

Now, that isn’t happening.

“I am fully committed to Clemson,” Morris said. “I am not going to talk to any other schools or go to any other camps.”

I actually wouldn't mind this kid going to some camps

Jun 18, 2012, 5:10 PM

if he is fully committed to Clemson. Any education and technique he can pick up can't hurt.
Glad to have him!

I agree, getting extra work in at camps would be a good thing.

Dad: "Son, stop eating the bovine growth hormone, it's for the cows."

Maverick: "But Dad, it tastes awesome!"

His coach said he just had a growth spurt.....

Jun 18, 2012, 7:32 PM

which was why he was under the radar.

You reckon?!

I shake my head in amazement at someone that young and that big. I hope the coordination and quicks grow also.

Are you kidding. Have you looked at this guy? Compared to some of the lardaxxes we have riding the bench over there now, he looks like he could play this fall. This guy is a beast. Sorry, I'll have to accept Coach Morris's opinion over yours.

Morris wanted this kid. He asked for guys that drive big jacked up trucks with mud all over them, and work on farms. Kid was the top OL by evaluation in camp. This is not a questionable offer, he lives in podunk where there is very little recruiting coverage, yet competes against the very best Ga. has to offer. He is what Clemson needs on the line, no doubt. Just think Tyler Shately/Philip Price.

I think you're on to something here.....

Jun 19, 2012, 11:23 AM

Something to be said for "country strong". I think we have to trust "The Chad" on this one.

And He's

Jun 19, 2012, 12:34 AM

got a great first name.

badge-donor-05yr.jpgmilitary_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

If coach Morris wants him, I'm good with it-a lot of trust***

Just saying..

Jun 19, 2012, 5:36 PM

IMO!**

when it comes to OL, the staff have MISSED on alot
more than they hit on,but hey...thats just me.
And getting one descent OL every couple years isn't
goin' cut it.

The staff that is in place now did not recruit most of the linemen to whom you refer. Morris and Caldwell recruited this kid. The linemen to whom you refer, were mostly 3 and 4 stars. This guy was offered based on what he showed in camp, and if I understand Chad Morris it was a lot. Morris and Caldwell have not missed on anyone yet, no one they have recruited has even played. We'll get better linemen, but don't discount this kid because he doesn't have offers.

So this makes this guy a miss? Morris wasn't here then. And at age 16, doesn't it say something that he could impress a savvy coach like Morris? This guy is a freak of nature. And he didn't look particularly friendly to me. A good sign. Unless you know more that Coach Morris, this is a major catch---beating other major programs to the punch. Look at this guy!

Absolutely. 6' 5'', 290 lbs and still growing at age 16.
Look out! Morris doesn't make offers lightly. We have a steal here.
