I think Cole saw how excited we were about Deshaun starting

vs GT and got down on himself.

In this day of social media he probably saw it and was disappointed.

Then, when we needed him, he wasn't mentally ready.

It's not an excuse, there was never any guarantee that Deshaun would have a good game. He could have had soreness in the hand and have to come out.

Surely the coaches counseled Cole that he should be ready.

I really think the competition with Deshaun has turned Cole into a headcase.

Sad, but understandable.

Perhaps you're right.

Wonder what Chad and Dabo's excuses were? tALK ABOUT BEING OUT TO LUNCH.

The coaches were not worried about DW going down or they would never have had him run so much.

The excessive runs made him vulnerable and the swing pass the went about 90 for a GT touchdown is on C. Morris. GT DC saw what we did in WF game and had the DBs lock in on certain patterns.

Hsd that play been called with DW in game--same outcome. You'll remember Sammy threw late and short pass at SC last year and it was picked off. Both plays were momentum changers against the Tigers.

Good grief, he's not as melodramatic as the tools...

There's no such thing as a stupid question, just stupid people who ask questions.

personally I think there's some truth to this. Not necessarily the impact of social media but that Cole has lost something mentally, confidence whatever you call it. He absolutely should have been prepared and ready to do better than he did. I was working during during the game and when I first tuned in saw Watson not in-my heart and mood sank. You have to have 3 very good players at nearly every position to excel in football. That's why my hope and excitement has never been about any one player. They can be down, gone in an instant. I'm not sure Clemson has ever suffered this type of attrition per the injuries or personal issues. Very disappointed the program is enduring this. Defense looks GOOD though.
Fight on Tigers. They can win out. The whole team must play near flawlessly to do it though.

I agree. Think about how hard this has

been on him. No way he's not disappointed and mentally down.
