Does anyone actually feel that Coach Swinney will make changes?

One doesn't have to look far to see that our WR's aren't making plays that present themselves, our OLine has to be as bad as any in the last 15 years, our RB's aren't making a difference but the OLine can be most of that, and as talented as Cade is, it is obvious he panics at crucial moments! So do any feel that Dabo will overhaul three different positions from the asst coach down?

No way. He is too stubborn. They need to cut his pay in half after this season to inspire him to get off his ### and make changes we desperately need.

He DID go get Riley, which surprised and delighted us all last offseason. I think losing the streak of 10 wins will sort of force his hand. He was able to rattle off stats and maybe even fool himself a bit that we were just one piece away and were still performing at a high level. Going 7-5 (which is likely a best case scenario at this point) really removes that fig leaf. If he wants to be successful, they'll have to do a HARD inventory of the program from top to bottom.

Why?
Honestly - I think he's burnt out.
Kids all graduated (or about to) and getting married, grandkids are inevitable, he's a multi-millionaire, he took Clemson from nothing to greatness, has nothing left to prove and no higher mountain to reach than the one he already has, twice before.
After attaining a few natty's, his coaching staff all left for HC positions - leaving him two choices: Rebuild or fade away.
I don't think he has the drive he once did that would require dismissal of several former players - only to rebuild with outside aid.

A man without drive isn’t losing it on players on the sidelines after idiotic mistakes, just because he doesn’t say what you want him to in front of a camera doesn’t mean he’s just ok with this.

he wouldn’t have been lazy in his recent hiring or slow to adapt to changes.
Our problems aren’t new. We are on year three of disappointment. Why is his threshold so high to take action?

I thought this, too. And it happens to the best of us.
Personal story I started from zero and built a successful, profitable business, in spite of everyone around me, including my own father, telling me it was impossible. The business was successful for many years, but then it went through a downturn that was started by Covid. I just didnt have it in me to rebuild, and now I’m semi-retired.
Coaches are in similar positions. They have great success, and then, when they go through a downturn, they know what it takes to get back to the top, and some just don’t have the drive in them anymore.
What disappoints me about that right now, instead of Dabo being straight with the team, and with the fans, he’s trying to spin it like everything‘s fine. All of us who follow the program closely know that everything is not fine. As a matter fact, it’s code red!

Man Im with you. Personal story, I built a business and went hard from 2008 to covid and shut back alot. Now, things are rolling but Im just treading water, thinking through my exit strategy and building value into my brand. I just dont think I have it in me to do all that again. I’m just cruising without trying and I think thats all I got at this point🤷♂️

Yep there’s nobody that wants to win more then Dabo and the team. If you think he’s going to just sit down cry and do nothing you haven’t paid attention this his career. This man told his staff “ I’ll burn it all down and fire everyone of you but it will not fall” a man that’s ok with losing doesn’t say that.

Well, following what you outlined means we have to find a way to recruit better talent and get them to sign with us, and then we have to have the right coaches to develop them. If we lose out on the HS talent, will we now look to the portal? How many coaches, if any, will Dabo actually replace?
These are questions only Dabo can answer. Do I expect some changes? Yes, I do. Will they be enough to address all of the concerns? That is the million dollar question...

At this point, he has no choice except to clean house.
The team and the coaching staff are demoralized and in disarray.
Somebody better wake up Danny Pearman because I'm afraid we are going to see a lot of defections and de-commitments that will need to be replaced.

He will make changes. Some on hefe make Dabo out to be some dude who doesn’t like to win. He knows what it takes to get to the top and he’s done it twice. All we can see are the symptoms for 4hrs once a week. Dabo can see what happens every day.
Getting rid of Streeter was a step in the right direction; however, I thought he coached a decent Orange Bowl with a QB that could actually throw the ball. The same issues that game are still happening now. OL getting whipped forcing an immature QB to make decisions. WRs not being able to make plays. And an offense that is allergic to the end zone.
Dabo will make the changes necessary to build the program back up. He doesn’t have a personal vendetta against Clemson or even the “1.5%.” He would leave before tanking Clemson. He’ll make the changes.

Sam Pittman at Arkansas just fired his OC after starting 2-6 and losing to Miss State. He's not panning out as a HC but he's a heck of an OL coach and recruiter. If he comes available he'd be an upgrade to all but 1 or 2 programs in all of college football.

Hard to say on the others. I guess it could depend on how things go the rest of the way this season. It's a lot more difficult to bring those assistants back if we finish 5-7 than it would be if we somehow go on a run and finish 9-3.

There will be some, but nothing to make the program look like it is in shambles. Then the talent will also be upgraded at WR. Tbe program will be a top 10 team in 2 seasons. Will we see how good they can get. I think Wes will have to go before the program is elite though, due to him not being intense. He comes across scared.

Dabo has recognized the issues for a while. You have already seen a few changes; maybe this years mediocre start will speed up planned changes to NIL, roster management and portal.
The main issue, IMO, isn't if he will make changes (he will), but will they be implemented quick enough and will he commit fully to them. Need a much more robust effort in several areas.....
It didn't have to be this way. Good thing is he recognizes this now....

Too early to knock Riley. I remember articles during Venables first year here saying that "Clemson sure isn't getting their money's worth."

It is bigger than Dabo. The game has changed and it is leaving small market teams behind. Kids only care about the money now and someone is always willing to pay more.
