8 people so far have come in. Every one.... My tire pressure light is on. Lol.
Tire guys are busy adding air. First cold morning. Think I'm the only legit customer so far.

Never thought of the pressure light as a license to print money.

I miss the days of plugs. No one uses them anymore. Need to find a shade tree guy.

Buy kit from auto store.
Pro tip: If it's too tight and you can't force it in there, you may need to drill it out first.
I know, you already have a response typed up as to why you can't or won't do it your self. But if you don't plug that hole, it's going to cost a lost more when someone else plugs it for you.

Dealership and one tire store so far.
Problem is it isn't a nail, but a 1/8-1/4" gash. If it was a nail it would be easy. Don't think I can plug this hole. Was hoping for a poatch. It's on the outside tread, so it was close to the wall, and that and the size of the puncture, they won't do a patch or plug.
And I guess I can understand that, maybe. So new tire, lol.
Calling Wal-Mart and will get the same exact OEM tire for $270. Goodyear and dealership wanted $500, for single-freaking-tire.
Anyway, I'm done with people today.

My local place told me there are certain types of damage they won’t patch/plug because if it has a blow out resulting in a wreck they can be liable.
Mine still had miles on the prorated warranty so I think I paid $25 for a new one.

tire, installed, for just under $300. Goodyear wanted $500. Trying to see if dealer will match Walmart's price.
Ok, so I'm doing a screen print from Wal-Mart's website and they will match the price and installation charges at the dealership. Sweet.
Still, about $300, ugh.

And I'm still not sold 1/16" of tire tread could damage an AWD system on a vehicle--at least that's what the manufacturers say.

close to the sidewall. Was pretty much due for new tires anyway, so went home and watched reviews, ended up with Pirelli Scorpion Weatheractive tires...

I think they just red flag the people who go there for air in their tires

as the idiots they can exploit the next time they come in for something they can charge money for. People who can't put air in their own tires are the same folks who will buy windshield wipers, air filters, alignment when alignment doesn't need to be done, etc.

they'll top you off.
As a guy that can add air and has a compressor, it's far easier to just slide in/out a discount tire when passing by. The alternative is to get my compressor out, drag an extension cord out, check pressure/add air/check pressure, etc.
And yes, I buy ALL of my tires there.
I think it's a good model for DT getting folks used to coming in there.
Win/win.

it would be worthwhile. But it's 30 miles to the nearest Discount Tire from my house (and I bought my last set from there too).
my little Ryobi inflater, it takes more time to unscrew the cap on the stem than it does to inflate the tire automatically to the set PSI. Mine needed the "cold booster shot" last week, they were all 5 pounds low simultaneously one chilly morning. Took all of like 4 minutes.

A jump/inflator box in each of them.
Best $120 bucks I’ve ever spent.

a real air compressor. It probably won't help some of the people that go into the shop for a tire pressure light, those people just need a good learning. Also note, I don't know how well it jump starts yet.

Never knew but crank amps on new cars are way higher than older cars. As such you can't jump off a battery from an older car with cables. Another reason to have one of these especially if you have a newer car.
