Back in the 80s, I delivered a hospital bed to an aunt of the Caldwell's in Spartanburg. I kind of made the connection since her last name was Caldwell and she had pictures of the band hanging on her wall. I asked her about them and she seemed glad to talk about them, so we struck up about a 20 minute conversation about the band with her telling me how they started out young and locally and all the hard work and struggles they had to go through to finally make it. It was very interesting to say the least.

Central Dance?) asked one Friday afternoon if he could briefly enlist me and my gf's assistance before we left for the usual weekend in Atl and help arrange some chairs in Harcombe.....we did and when I asked what the occasion was, he said there was a concert by a band from Spartanburg called Marshall Tucker.....I had heard of them from some small gigs around the Upstate and years later actually met Toy .....good folks.

A bunch of guys including who become the Marshall Tucker Band used to practice and jam at my parents house as my oldest brother was a singer and musician when I was 10 - 12 years old. They were and are good down to earth guys. My brothers band and the MTB were the finalist to win a record contract and MTB came out with their new style of music and won. My brother and us have remained friends with them.
