Garry Peters

Sep 30, 2012, 4:28 PM

Anybody else impressed with Garry Peters yesterday? Other than the one play where he got burned, I think he played much better than Robinson and Breeland. Hopefully this will encourage BV to experiment with some of the other backups like Tony Steward and Lateek Townsend.

He got burned, but he learned from his mistake and got an INT on the same route and the same receiver. Wish some of our other defenders would learn from their mistakes.

He got burned but it wasn't all him. On that play he should have had a safety over the top. It was really Rashard Hall who got burned, it just made Peters look like crap because he was in the area.

Not his fault on that one.***

yup, and I am not buying the Mickey Plyler argument that there is no talent on our defense. Granted our corners were not highly recruited, but they are good athletes that just to become good football players.

Deshawn Williams also had a monster game yesterday. He may just be that guy that can plug the middle against GT. Now containing the perimeter, I may just have to cover my eyes every time they pitch the ball on Saturday.

The biggest issue is that all of the talent is FR and SO

Sep 30, 2012, 5:58 PM

and they lack experience right now. The talent is there with the young guys, but not with the veterans.

Isn't that basically what Mickey said too?

I thought that Peters played well. He looked confident and his fundamentals looked good. I like his size also. If we are able to land Alexander the secondary could look very good next year. Peters, Alexander, Jenkins, Breeland and Tanksley could really improve the secondary play. Plus moving Blanks to strong safety and Kearse to free safety and this defense could be totally different in 2013. I hope that Cortez Davis wil improve this or next year. He could be a great addition. Please coach these guys, they have the ability to be great.

I thought he played well. Much better than Robinson but not Breeland . He .played a very physical game with a lot of big hits. I know he got beat on the double move but other than that he played a pretty good game. Jmo

Breeland got embarrassed on that double move.
