I rigged my weed wacker with a carbide saw blade

Sep 2, 2022, 11:03 AM

Highly recommended, I can slice through brush and vines with ease, especially those wild grape vines.

Only problem is I wore sandles while cutting and now my ankles are covered in poison ivy. Rookie mistake.

Yes I highly recommend not to wear sandals or flip flops while weed eating!

Sandals and saw blades around your feet usually have a bad ending.

I'm stubborn as a mule, but this is one mistake I shall not repeat.

Soak em in bleach water. STRONG bleach water! Takes the itch away and you can watch football at the same time.

Every poison ivy treatment works ......... for about an hour and then it's back to itching ...... same with all chigger treatments!

Chiggers are easily the most itchy experience I've ever had. I used to wake up in the middle of the night and scratch uncontrollably. The only relief I had was blasting myself with scorching hot water.... oh it was bad.

Try bedbugs if you want to itch!

Of you cut both legs off just above the ankles the itching will stop.

Can you post a pic of the rig? I think I could use that on a couple projects.

Got everythng on amazon

Makita XRU15PT1 electric trimmer
Renegade blade 8" combo pack
Patioer blade adapter kit

The electric makita is great, super quiet, no fumes, I really punish it and work it hard, it holds up great, comes with 2 sets of batteries

The adapter kit is crucial, "patioer" is the brand I bought and it works, and the renegade blades annihilate anything they come across.

Let me tell you about another rookie mistake.... My father (who was pretty good with tools) did that a number of years ago and while we were all in the yard with his 7 grandchildren the blade came off at about 50 miles per hour flying through the yard. Thanks to the good Lord all the children were behind him and the blade slung in the other direction. Someone could have lost both legs.
