Looking way ahead 2023-2024 Clemson basketball

So hopefully we can see this Clemson team make noise in ACC Tournament. If they do, they are in the NCAA Tournament.
To do that, they must shoot well under pressure as well when wide open. They have to have balanced scoring (at least 3 players leading). Coaches must be able to coach up the younger bench players and mesh them in well during games so there is less drop off. (Beadle makes way more mistakes vs delivering benefits in games. Middlebrook hardly scores so to get 6 -8 points from him is huge. Wiggins has most potential. Godfrey needs to settle down and get three confident post moves.)
Now Next Year... Clemson may really struggle. Will be interesting to see if there is strong off-season development growth with what Tyson did this season along with Galloway.
Who fills their roles, production and leadership? And does Hemeneay have any eligibility left?

Don’t worry. The Brownell Bros will assure us, as every season, that absolutely every position on the court has been upgraded. And we can once again look forward to the exhilaration of having the opportunity to play ourselves into the postseason in the last weeks of the season.

We're only definitely losing 2 players.
If everyone else comes back, then hopefully given the additional year of experience we will be as good or better than this year.
My concern is that every offseason half the team seems to transfer out and we replace them with transfers with only 1 or 2 years of eligibility many of whom never contribute.
That doesn't really develop a team or chemistry.

Since I didn't see Wiggins and Godfrey play the 2nd half of the SU blowout or get much PT last night, have begun to wonder if they'll be on transfer watch.

Two key players from this year’s team will be back:
PJ Hall Chase Hunter
Obviously losing Tyson hurts, as does losing Brevin Galloway. But we have some other pieces that should fit well.
I look for Ian Schieffelin to start next to PJ Hall. RJ Godfrey and Chauncey Wiggins should compete for a starting spot as well. Middlebrooks gives us good depth down low.
Hemenway has another year of eligibility if he wants it. I’d like to see him come back, and if so, he will probably start.
That gives us a nice lineup. I expect us to bring in at least one transfer from the portal, maybe two.

Asa Thomas is similar to Hunter Tyson.

Long wing who shoots the ball well and plays smart basketball. Rated the #8 player in Illinois. Had some good offers including Big 10, Big East, and ACC.
https://clemsontigers.com/clemson-signs-asa-thomas-for-2023-24/![]() Clemson Signs Asa Thomas for 2023-24 CLEMSON, S.C. — Head Coach Brad Brownell and his staff added Asa Thomas (Lake Forest, Illinois/Lake Forest) to the Clemson University men’s basketball program on Wednesday. Thomas signed a letter of intent to play for the Tigers beginning in 2023-24. “Asa is a highly skilled wing with a high basketball IQ and a knack for always making the right play. While an outstanding shooter, Asa’s size, versatility and feel for the game should allow him to play multiple positions during his Clemson career. Asa is an outstanding student who comes from a great family. Our staff can’t wait for him to get to Tigertown.” Thomas is a 6-7, 185-pound guard from Lake Forest, Ill. and is rated a three-star prospect, according to 247Sports and Rivals. Thomas led the Illinois Wolves (AAU) in scoring this past summer on the UAA circuit averaging 15.1 points per game, while shooting 45.0 percent from the field and 38.0 percent from three. He was recognized by Synergy Sports as being the most offensively efficient player on the UAA 17U circuit this past summer. Thomas averaged a circuit-best 1.07 points per possession. At Lake Forest High School, Thomas averaged 17.1 points and 6.3 rebounds per game, while shooting 40.3 percent from three and 85.2 percent from the foul line. He made a school-record 98 three-point field goals and scored 1,130 career points. Thomas is ranked as the eighth-best player in the 2023 class from the state of Illinois. Thomas chose Clemson over Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, Virginia Tech, Marquette and DePaul. He wanted starting playing time. If he would have stayed would he have started. Looks like he would have beaten others out for a spot right? Just curious to your thoughts

I think I'd like to see a couple of forwards come out of the portal, a good shooter/take it to the hole and a tough rebounder.
