"Swinney Bros" jump in the NIL game with custom merchandise
Clemson is 'Holder U' according to two Tigers with a very familiar last name. Super senior receiver Will Swinney and redshirt junior receiver Drew Swinney, sons of Tigers coach Dabo Swinney, released co-branded custom merchandise through The Players Trunk this week, proclaiming Clemson as 'Holder U' Read Update » |

They seem to be fine young men but who would spend money on their branded stuff?

Jstone I couldn’t agree with u more! I know they’re hard workers & good students, but lets be honest- they are not Division 1 caliber athletes. They should be playing at schools like North Greenville or somewhere. They would probably ride the bench at Furman. The fact that they were put on scholarship is ridiculous. It should be given to someone more talented that otherwise wouldn’t be able to attend Clemson. But luckily they born Swinneys.

Both started as walk-ons. I don’t believe Drew is on scholarship currently and Will does not count against the 85-scholarship limit with the waiver for the pandemic.

Spot on! The nepotism is amazing. There are alot of hard working kids trying to get a spot and some playing time that are just as good or better but don’t have the name.

Name one.
You can't do it, because you're making a hypothetical complaint that you can't prove.
Which walk-on is a better holder than WS22? Dabo usually gives a scholly to holder walk-ons when they become upperclassmen, even if they don't contribute in any other ways, so don't pretend Will's scholarship is unprecedented. Especially since he was Amari's backup much of last year.
Your holder is more valuable to your team than a fourth-string linebacker, or third-string tackle, or whoever it is you think is so deserving.
If Drew was on scholarship at the same time I might agree with you, but since he isn't, I'm considering you to be full of sh*t.
You complain first and then worry about facts later, right?

You would be surprised. When I was younger I thought I had to get one of those game day tshirts every game that had the date and the opponent. I subscribed to the been there -bought the tshirt philosophy back then. Now I see what a waste of money that was.

I just don't see many people buying these generically branded items, like this and Justyn Ross' stuff. Especially at these prices. But hey - whatever works!

Since Will has over 100,000 online followers, he has a solid enough base to build the brand. As far as the prices of the merchandise, I though they looked about normal. Kids today think nothing of dropping $30 for a T-shirt. I agree, this gives Dabo a first hand look on the implementation of the NIL.

I gotta admit, the helmet looks WEIRD without the Clemson Tiger Paw on it.
Like, can't un-see!

think. When every player thinks they can have their own brand. We are only a couple of weeks into this and it already seems over saturated.
