problems with Windows 8 - I know - one of the very few.
Everything was going great - and now - 2 days later - can't print to anything - my normal printer, my PDF printer, an email . . . NOTHING.
Any help out there ? Was working perfectly fine for 2 days - now I'm totally dead in the water. I have to either print hard copy or a PDF of everything I do.
? ? ? ? ? ? ?

I upgraded to Win 10, laptop worked great for 3 days after that went in to a boot loop. I had to reformat back to Win 7. I would recommend upgrading.

Seriously doubt it's a printer driver issue of you cannot printer out to a document. If the print support service started?
Hold the Windows key and press R. Type services.msc in the run box and then press Enter. Look for Print Spooler in the list that comes up.. Make sure the printer Spooler service is Started and set for Automatic.

I just tried that. Says it is running & automatic.

Stopped it & restarted.
I went to the control panel & tried to select printers and it went into the blue spiral of death . . . can't even get me to the window showing my printer choices.
In Outlook, Quicken, Word, anything . . . I click print and it immediately goes into the blue circle of death and nothing happens until I right click & close window.

thing you suggested and while I was in there I stopped and then restarted the print spooler . . .
It got my printer going and it spit out the piece I was trying to print at 6pm . . .
Then I was able to print to PDF using the Quicken driver in Quicken . . . . AWESOME - I was CRYING I was so happy.
But now . . . I go to Outlook and it won't print an email to my printer.
I go to the bottom right and into the print manager - I see the document - I right click it & cancel it - it says deleting but it never goes away.
Get me back to printing emails & Quicken PDF's & invoices and I will buy you an Orange Level for the next year.

Just tried the video listed above & it will not let me change the properties to Print Directly to the Printer . . . says it is invalid data.
I guess since it is wireless "network" printer I can't select Print Directly to the Printer ?

Okay, first lets clear the printer queue. Do back and bring up services and stop the print spooler again. With it stopped, browse to C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS. Delete all files in this directory. Now try to print a test from notepad. What happens?

Oh yeah. You have to restart the print spooler again before trying to print test notepad page. Sorry.

Without playing around with that particular model, I am not sure. It looks like the Lexmark software is trying to handle your print jobs. There shouldn't be any problem with that as long as all print jobs work properly. Also I would think you would have seen that box before after you initially installed the printer. Maybe Windows went out and grabbed an update for that printer when it was installing updates. I hate when Windows does that. I have seen so many issue with videos cards, network cards.....etc because of this.

Everytime I print, this progress bar pops up . . .

usually it only is there for 2-3 seconds - unless I am printing a 20 pager or something . . . then it is there for 5 to 6 seconds.
Right now - it is still on the screen . . . can't cancel, not doing anything.

Okay. Let's see if disabling Lexmark software on startup helps.
-Windows key + R -type in msconfig and press Enter -go to the Startup tab and click on Open Task Manager -disable anything Lexmark related -restart the machine and then try printing something

The printer should be okay with the ezprint enabled. However, if you prefer not to have the software handle the print jobs, it may be necessary to delete the printer and reinstall. Normally, disabling the startup should not affect printing but there are always exceptions.

If you do not have the disks that came with it, you should still be able to download the drivers from the website. What model do you have?

This is from the Lexmark website. Windows installs drivers automatically.
Products with limited support
These products were developed before Lexmark had knowledge of the re-designed Windows 10 printing system, but will support basic printing features. Microsoft may choose, at its own discretion, to completely discontinue printing support for these products in future Windows 10 operating system updates.
Use existing Windows 8, 8.1 print drivers for the following inkjet models:
Lexmark S815/S816 (Lexmark S800 Series) Lexmark Pro901/Pro902/Pro905 (Pro800-Pro900 Series) Lexmark Pro802/Pro805 (Pro800-Pro900 Series) Lexmark Pro702/Pro705/Pro706/Pro708 (Pro700 Series) Lexmark Pro202/Pro205/Pro208 (Pro200-S500 Series) Lexmark S602/S605/S608 (S600 Series) Lexmark S502/S505/S508 (Pro200-S500 Series) Lexmark S402/S405/S408 (S300-S400 Series) Lexmark S302/S305/S308 (S300-S400 Series) Lexmark X2650/X2670/X2690 (2600 Series) Lexmark X4975/X4950 (4900 Series) Lexmark X6675/X6650/X6690 (5600-6600 Series) Lexmark X5650/X5690 (5600-6600 Series) Lexmark X7675 (7600 Series) Lexmark X3650/X3690 (3600-4600 Series) Lexmark X2600/X2620/X2630 (2600 Series) Lexmark Z2300/Z2330/Z2390 (Z2300 Series) Lexmark Z2420/Z2490 (Z2400 Series) Lexmark X4630/X4650/X4690 (3600-4600 Series)
