need to buy some for home so I remember what I'm drinking. Not tried a porter, but want to. Recommendations? I've got some food recipes that call for porters, and I've substituted other beers.

Mother Earth has a good Oatmeal Porter.
Porters are less hoppy than stouts so the current hop craze has kind of limited the selection

Really good oatmeal porter.
My dad likes milk stouts. Left Hand has a good one. My father likes the one from Keegan's Ales.

Pan seared tuna steak with mustard braised kale
Jan 30, 2014, 10:12 PM
|
|
Seasoned the tuna with some southwest seasoning, used a jalapeno infused olive oil. Delicious.
Braised probably isn't the right term for the kale, but I mixed a little chipotle mustard and chicken broth then used that to cook the kale. Turned out pretty good, although it could have used just a pinch of salt.

I see a lot of articles or recipes using swai now. It's supposedly like catfish but a little sweeter. I'd try it, but the whole "imported from Vietnam" thing makes me nervous.

And have waited there before for a table as well. People get in and out of there pretty quickly when they eat. Its not a restaurant that you sit down and take your time at.

Hence the waiting. It was the first time I had been there and I wasn't going to turn around because of a 15 minute wait.
