I think it is ridiculous that people on this board think that everyone who posts an objective comment about the staff or the team is automatically labeled a coot.
The poster obviously has a point. Dabo did say something along the lines of "If we had last year's defense we would be in contention for playing for the national title."

If you're not a coot, your Tiger colors will show through in time. If you are new, and coming on here with negativity, people on here are believing you are a coot. Will this hurt us being so close to signing day? Plus the recruits on defense we have obviously picked Clemson for a reason and now that the brains behind defense is gone what will fall out be if any?

I hope there are more candidates than this. While Morris was unproven and worked out, hiring someone from South Alabama would be kinda underwhelming.

Agreed. Let's hope he makes the right choice. We will have a rather young team next year, but if they get the basics down, like tackling, we will be better than this year.

Steele was as experienced as it gets and he didn't work out. NFL, Alabama, Head Coach at Baylor.
There are challenges with both options.

I agree with that statement 100%. There are a lot of really good DCs out there that would love to be a part of what Clemson has going for its self right now. Loaded with pretty good talent on both sides of the ball. Went 10/4 with an ineffective DC. With things clicking on both sides of the ball. Clemson could and would be an Elite FB program....

At least Dabo is essentially admitting and correcting his unforced rookie errors (Koenning, Napier, & Steele).
When T-Net starts posting articles touting a candidates resume (especially likening the candidate to a successful Clemson coach) it makes me think it's a done deal. I remember how the AD's PR department and T-Net sold Dabo to us as a hot, young Alabama guy, just like Danny Ford. And now Clark is being touted as a hot, young, just-out-of-high-school-coaching guy like Morris. Hmmm...
