One of the best examples of humility,Clemson should count themselves blessed, even if we never win another game.He is a breath of fresh air in a culture that is so Godless.Thank you Dabo for making collage football worth watching.

All those personal qualities make him a fine man

and I certainly appreciate those qualities. I also appreciated those same qualities you cite in Tommy Bowden.
But, for me, when judging a football coach, I put personal style aside and instead judge performance based on only three criteria: (1) wins and losses (2) graduation rate and (3) avoidance of issues with the NCAA.
So far, CDS is getting good marks on all three. Being a nice guy, while largely irrelevant, it is a nice touch.

Trying to compare Dabo with the only other two Tiger coaches worthy of mentioning in the same breath (Ford & Howard)is pointless. Different time, different game, different world. It's apples and oranges.
The bottom line for me is that when I look around CFB today to see who I might be willing to trade Dabo for, I can find absolutely nobody. Not Saben, not Miles, not either Kelly, not Meyer .... nobody.

Nope....heard too many bad things about him as far as how he treats his recruits. I think Dabo takes a personal interest in all of his players. He not only wants them to succeed on the football field, but also in life. I don't get the same feeling from Saban.

Right on Danny & Dabo, but don't forget Coach Howard.

At this poiny in time, I would put Danny and Frank in virtual dead heat with Dabo closing. Coach Howard did more with le$$ than any coach of whom I am aware.

serious question
Oct 31, 2012, 9:02 PM
|
|
The best coach youve ever had? He has been here a few years and has lost to his rival 3 straight. Im not knocking Dabo, he is very personable and knows how to reach his guys but for a program who has dominated their rival for 100 years, Im surprised that you would still consider him your best.
I personally dont think Dabo can win you a national title. I believe your school and your players can but I believe Dabo is too emotional and not very composed yet. That is typical of a first time head coach though but I cant see him winning the big games when he needs to.

Funny thing is...I actually hear the "Gamecocks want him to stay" garbage all the time. I think most Clemson fans and IPTAY members truly believe in Dabo. I really feel that these coots want him gone because they are realizing the impact he is having. Its a matter of time.... I know I do. They realize his talents on the CEO side of things. OBS has gotten recruits because of his past, not because of his person. Once this trains starts moving...which it is beginning to this Nov, It will be a long time of gutter misery again for the USUCK program again. They know it, we know it, everyone knows it. They have gotten some really good recruits over the past several years on his name and past only ( Clowney, Lattimore, Roland, etc). In the past, diehard coots went to other teams because they knew they couldn't win at cootville. They didn't choose clemson simply because they grew up coots. The tide is turning, its starting again in November 2012. Our coaches are bringing in the recruits...time to close the deal and restore order.
