I just listened to it. Wow. For a while, Dabo's response seemed

quite reasonable and not that different than previous rants, but the longer it went on, his tone sounded different than anything I've ever heard from him. I'm not really sure what to make of it. Before listening, I suspected he might have just been looking for a chance to light a spark and that he saw this call as an opportunity to do that like he's done in the past, but this went beyond that, showing how frustrated he is with the state of things.

could physically or mentally break since this program he’s created and it’s unreal success mean so much to him.
He should be able to be above the chatter what with his religion, knowing what evil is in others hearts & minds when things unravel..but he is human and fears failure.
Let’s hope the team wins!

With all due respect, I think you are being a bit melodramatic.

Agreed. The guy asked legit questions and the HC went on a blustering tirade. If Bama/UGA/OSU we’re having this type of season or 3 years of terrible offense, the vitriol would be on full display. It is a results biz and those are Dabo’s words.

Not really his main point of contention was CDS's salary....

Attacking the salary plays to the ignorant masses/general public is essentially pointless rhetoric–

Fears failure? He’s already made a fortune and even if he loses every game from here out will still make 64 million more. Has a wonderful wife, children, faith, etc.
What he fears is being wrong and that’s just prideful! If he looked around, he has nothing to fear at all. This is just a game decided by 18-22 year olds 12 weeks a year.

Make no mistake, he fears his legacy will be tarnished. That he’ll be branded as the CEO coach who needed experts to come save him from 2010. These are the things he’s been dealing with from the national media trying to discredit him all along. I get it, they’ve been unfair because the fact is without Dabo the CFP run and Natty’s and ACC’s don’t happen. Listen to what Dabo said tonight. It was about what Dabo has done. Not defending the team. Not defending Clemson University or Clemson football. Defending himself. Because he knows they want to discredit him. Don’t ever doubt Dabo wants to get this back on track. He has a lot to lose.

But he did need coordinators to come save him and they did. When they left so did the wins. That’s not a slight on Dabo. Saban needs excellent coordinators, they all do that’s why those jobs exist. This is why most of us know who’s calling the plays and he would be taking the credit for them too…..if they were working!

He was defending himself because that’s who Tyler attacked. Stop trying so desperately to fit square pegs in round holes.

Caller was extremely antagonistic w/ a prepared diatribe w/ obvious malicious intent predictably prefaced with claims of being the ideal Clemson fan, graduate, from a family of graduates, member of the military and Christian faith—

the reason that call in show has been boring for years is one that it has Don Munson on it and 2 because the calls are all the same. It’s good to have a little variety and agree with him or not. the caller stated what has been written on here for months by many posters. It was just 2 grown men having a disagreement and each stating their positions, everyone will survive
