We have a schedule opening in 2015 and 2016.

All would want a Home and Home with a name team. However, its not practical. We need a an opponent coming for a check at home in 2015. We need a Schedule Enhancer on the road in 2016.
How about:
2015=####### State of Indiana 2016=UCF (hedging that they will still be a good program)
Anyone know who we are pursuing in those years?

But the thing is, it is practical: It's simple math. Charge $100 a pop for a big OOC game as opposed to $50 for some FCS game nobody wants to go to. They charged $70 for Georgia this year and that game sold out in no time, with lowers going for $350+ and uppers $180+. Plus, couple that big OOC game with an FCS game (like they did for Georgia)... At the end of the day, you don't have to pay the $250k guarantee to the opponent and you're not missing out on much money and your fans, players, boosters, etc. are that much more excited.
Rant over.
I want:
Ole Miss...more for the return visit to their place Michigan...unlikely but how awesome would that be? Tennessee...another great home-and-home opportunity Florida...a good time to get them
Plus another 20 programs...
(By the way, if you simply EXPLAIN to your fans the reason it's necessary to charge so much, they'll be more than understanding. It's simple economics.)

lowering your win %. FSU + Louisville + ND + South Carolina is already a very tough schedule in 2015. You don't need to add another very difficult game to the schedule.

So you'd prefer to shy away from a real opponent that would pack the Valley and bring national attention to the program because it would add another tough opponent? Come on. I'll take that any day over another game with SC State. That does nothing for you. Win percentage means nothing. You need 6 wins. I'd rather play a real team.

They need an Away in 2015 and a 2016 at home. However, our AD won't book ND, SC, and Fl in the same year with our Conference schedule (FSU, L'vul, and Miami).

I saw article in local paper here (Virginia Beach, VA) that Old Dominion University located in Norfolk, VA (15 mins from va beach) was trying to get a 2 year deal with Clemson.

But absolutely hate those stupid neutral-field openers. Would much, much rather have a home-and-home.

We have ND at home in 2015. The opening will be paid game.

Where we have space is 2016 & 2017 for another big name OC game. 2018 will most likely be a return trip to south bend. No SEC team will commit right now until they know what is going to happen with the potential 9 game conference schedule.

Why would OKST do that?

a nonconference game with ND every three years now and they have 5 schools with built in nonconference games against the SEC annually (CU,FSU,GT and Louisville)and Wake/Vandy for however long that lasts. I think much of the future scheduling is on hold until everyone knows the formulas for getting into the 4 game playoff.

Have all of you forgot about the 4 team playoff? You have to take the path of least resistance to get there. You cant schedule those big time programs.

I'd rather sees play one team like sc state and more big name games. Like let's keep Georgia for a few years with coots on the end and maybe a nice home and home series with teams out of the normal south east mainly for recruiting. Like a big 12 or big 10 school. Heck maybe even PAC 12

Would they require a home-and-home, or would they come to the Valley for just one game?

UCF says the Louisville game may not be that difficult even easier when they lose QB and D linemen to NFL
I wouldn't count on Notre Dame just yet.
Clemson will get them while the Kelly tryout is still ongoing so may have several years to say hey we spanked ND until they really get it going again

It won't be an SEC team since they are supposed to go to 9 conference games. Schedule Oregon.
