jounge pole: what's the worst month of the year?

I'm going with February. Especially now that I live up north.
Duck season has just ended. No hunting seasons open. Too cold to fish. Too cold to play golf. Days are still short. The Michigan-esque grey could is about to #### me right the #### off. Too early to start working in the yard. After the Super Bowl, no sports worthadam.
There's really only 1.25 positives: 1- March is coming up, then you can start feeling warmth, planning for spring, etc. 0.25 - every 4 years we might get a winter olympics to watch. maybe, if scheduling works out.
in preparation for warm weather:

to hot to do anything outside, but that grass doesn't stop growing. Only Eurotrash sports on TV to watch. The football withdrawal symptoms are at peak. Wasps, yellow jackets, snakes, and all other kinds of vermin lurking in every nook and cranny trying to murder you.
I love the short winters of the South, basically Christmas to Valentine's Day. Just long enough to kill off all the bugs and keep the lawn mower in the shed for a couple months. But enough cloudless glorious 60 degree days (like today) to bask in the sun outside without fear of 3rd degree burns. You NEVER get days like today in July.
As for February..... Clemson Baseball home opener in a little over 2 weeks (Feb 16)......Spring is almost here.

Waiting on warm temps. Usually one last snow dump. No “good sports” after CBB Natty. Baseball is just around the corner tho, but still too cold to take kids to the games.
April. She is the worst.

April is usually in the low 80's, still windy though, usually not much rain and nice out.

April gives you the best of both worlds. It’s chock full of great events, like the best sporting competition on television, the Masters, but the weather allows you to watch sports on TV or go outside and take part in them. If you want to play golf before you watch golf, you can do that. Think baseball is boring on television? Go to a game and enjoy a hot dog and a beer. Want to watch the Heat game but don’t want to sit through the Hawks? Enjoy a nice walk and get back in time for the tip. You’re not limited.
October was a close second for these reasons, in addition to the World Series and football seasons getting into full swing. But April wins because almost every major sport gets in on the action, even one that’s right in the middle of its offseason. It’s a testament to the power of the NFL that the reading of names of players most NFL fans don’t know has become one of the marquee events of the year.

is a #### game. Clemson basketball always gets worse in Feb. No other sports that are interesting. No holidays, except groundhog day and I don't get the day off for that. Valentines day LOL. It's short just to be annoying. 28 days. Except when it's 29 because #### you, calendar-makers.
I can't think of anything redeeming about it. BHM deserves better.

maybe you hate it, but in the month of February I'll be attending (weather permitting) 8 Clemson home baseball games and 3-4 home Clemson softball games.
That's a pretty great freaking month.

they choose to start spring sports a month too early for some idiotic reason.
But a cold day at the ballpark is better than no day at the ballpark.

except the occasional warm day. About mid-March the days have started getting just a little bit longer and the sun comes out more, it gets warmer, shorts get shorter (for me), and life heads back in the right direction.
December would suck too if it wasn't for Bowl Season and Christmas.

When you get older, you'll get past the Christmas thing, too, probably.

As a family, we have essentially stopped "celebrating" it aside from a dinner or two out. No gifts, (my wife still puts up a tree for some reason, whatever) but its a HUGE de-stresser.
If I could start talking friends and/or family to start going to the Keys or Bahamas where its warm over Christmas..December would be OK.

Absolutely my biggest downside to this place. A sunny cloudless day between Nov and March is a freaking big occasion.

In keeping with we all wanting what we ain't got, I'll take July and August (either one) as the worst months. Probably August more since the 4th saves July's butt. Not a fan of the heat.

Yeah I’d agree, February is the pits. Nothing to hunt or fish, winter is dragging on and it’s miserable and depressing. A lot of people have also said July, which is probably a close second. Kids are out of school and wild, no sports, no hunting. At least you can get out on the water though.

July or August - I'll take a 30 degree day over a 90 degree day every time. I don't even mind the extra darkness in winter. It helps me sleep.

I will be in Keystone for 4 days and the two weeks later at Copper for 4 days. I can’t wait. I work like 8 days in February.
So February is high on the list for me.

But March is the cruelest beotch for me.
I expect February to suck weather wise. But March is like the siren that calls to say, "Winter is over. Step into the warm sunshine". Then, five minutes later, "Muhaaaaa, here's a 30 degree high fool."
