Are the Somalis responsible for the wave of violence?

yes, they are responsible for a lot of violence and also responsible for the decline of many neighborhoods. Western parts of Minneapolis look 10x worse than Detroit. It’s a freaking terrorist training ground.

I always heard Minneapolis was kind of nice, but then again, I have never been to Minneapolis or Detroit as an adult. I always assumed Detroit kind of sucked, but was trying to come around. Interesting.

Detroit is where people who suck at their career end up. Nobody lives there by choice.

Crime is up. The governor and mayor failed the city

It's still a great place, and the real estate market in the city is better than ever.
I moved to a nearby suburb in July. It had nothing to do with the rioting, but I go back often and feel safe.
And again, defunding the police was a poor way of describing the fundamental changes needed for the police department. I guess there are a number of reasons why crime is up.

I feel like more eyes on the street deters crime. And people are desperate.
Police are quitting, so I am sure there are less out patrolling.

It was meant to repopulate the city, but no one will admit that mistake

We put a bunch of Cambodians and Vietnamese there as well after Vietnam. It's odd. There are a bunch in New Orleans too, but that doesn't seem so weird. They say the Vietnamese are a big reason why New Orleans has such good bread.

Imagine there's no police. It's easy if you try. Sow the wind, reap the whirlwind. The mayor and city council of Minneapolis need some TP to wipe their heads.

they defunded and dismantled the police department

and replaced them with a focus on violence prevention. In other words, put policies and people in place to prevent the violence from happening in the first place instead of putting people in prison after the violence has occurred.
Give it some time, the peace keepers will fix the problems.

Violence interrupters.
So you're saying they finally found a place for those who graduate with a woman's studies degree?
