Tomorrow is Military Appreciation Day, a Purple out, and one of my favorite games of the year with the pageantry, flyover, and everything else. This year and last have held special meaning with one of the most beloved Tigers in history playing for us, Daniel Rodriguez.
Earlier this year, we played a game (vs Wake?) where we were deep in the redzone with the game well in hand. Dabo and Morris were doing their very best to get Daniel his first score calling his number it seemed every play. I think there may have been a reason he wasn't able to punch it in that day.
His first score belongs on a day like tomorrow.
If we find ourselves in the second half with a comfortable lead I expect the coaches to finish what they were attempting earlier this year. If the jet-sweeps and wr-screens fail, I wouldn't be surprised to see Rodriguez line up at tailback with the first string O-linemen back in the game.
My idea: When Daniel Rodriguez scores tomorrow, salute. Salute, a la Dwayne Allen a few years ago (still my favorite personal foul of all time - dumb ref). Talk to the people around you in the stands who may not read this and get them to join you. Don't jump around (if even possible). Still scream your head off, but hold the salute until it spreads throughout Death Valley (or dies a painful death like most ideas originating on internet forums!).
I believe there are enough people on TigerNet to make this happen and if it works, will be a special moment for everyone involved, and especially for one of the best people to ever don a Clemson jersey, Daniel Rodriguez.
