The very last penny is being minted today in Philadelphia.
What happens to that $billion 9/10 of a penny on all the gas price signs? Gas end up having a price ending in (6), because that's where you would have to round up to the next nickel? So my $2.99/9 ($3) gas today will become $2.96 ($3) tomorrow? OR....do they keep the 9 tenths of a penny in the price, and then round the total after several gallons up top the next nickel? Will the penny exist in electronic transactions only? If so, paying in cash then carries a penalty of up to $0.04.

Currently selling for $275 a box on eBay. Got it from my bank for face value. I’m not sure if I sell it now or wait. Maybe I’ll sell them roll by roll someday which is currently about $15 a roll.
Maybe these air traffic controllers should have thought about squirreling away some before the shutdown.

But it’s been illegal to melt them down, but with them being discontinued we should be allowed to soon just like with silver coins. I’m sitting on a few 5 gallon buckets full.
