2012 season and random thoughts (long)

I’m guarded about this upcoming season; I’ll admit that the positivity of that is coming from TN articles, the high preseason rankings from the media and magazines, the awesome recruiting, and the return of all the skill position talent is tugging at my heart! However, I’ve been burnt too many times going with my heart. My head tells me to guard my enthusiasm until we have more experience on the lines of scrimmage. It is also the dreaded even numbered year (2012). It’s time to break our own little curse of the even numbered years and put the chicken curse back on the coots in stink town!
The Danial Rodriguez story is awesome!!! Very inspirational!!! I can’t wait to see him perform and I’m hoping that he becomes a great player. Then the book and movies!
Following recruiting seems to get more fun each and every year. I love that Dabo (and staff) can hold his own with any program in the country. It makes me wonder sometime what if Dabo would have tried to recruit Lattimore and Clowney before the last week or two. I think they both would be wearing orange now. Even without them, this program is getting special!
I think that the BV defense is going to match the CM offense. What I mean by that is that not only is Venables is used to playing against high powered offenses, he is used to being on an Oklahoma high powered offensive team. I don’t think his D will panic when the O has a turnover or better yet, score a quickly. What a lot of people don’t seem to understand is that if you have a high powered offense, your defense won’t look like Alabama or LSU. If your D is your strength, then you match it with a ball control (not flashy) O. Then you don’t worry about being in those riveting 9-7 bore fests. When you have the high octane O, you don’t worry about giving up 30 points while you score 65 points.
I don’t understand the hate of some quality coaches; Ralf Friedgen was the best coach that Maryland had since Bobby Ross. He won an ACC championship, beat Clemson several times (I think he snapped something like a 14 game losing streak), and did this with middle of the road talent. I also remember we struggled against him while he was the OC at GT. Before that, he was the OC of the only SD Charger team to go to the Super Bowl! Maryland will miss him. Urban Myer rebuilt the Gators. He doubled the OBS in national titles, he redefined the mighty SEC because of his offense, he produced Tim Tebow (another of my favorite non-CU players), and he had some awesome comments about Clemson as an announcer. I hope he has great success at Ohio St. Lane Kiffin gets criticized on TN, even though he never had a cross word about Clemson. But he did hammer the OBS and USuC. He gave us the great line of gas pumpers, riled up the SEC, and gave the OBS some of his own medicine. I absolutely loved it!
Chic Filet Appreciation Day was Awesome! I wish that we as conservatives would stand together more often (especially in November). I get so sick of hearing the overblown nonsense from the left. That is why I love the way Shawn Hannity gives liberals a taste of their own medicine. (Is it just me or do liberals and coots seem to be cut from the same cloth?) The Muppets suck.

Um, believe it or not, there are also liberal Clemson fans. You may now return to your Fox News.

#### Harpootlian and Vincent Shaheen. Anyone with a bad word about The Muppets doesn't know squat.
