"Because at the end of the game, everyone knew that they weren’t that much better than us or better than us at all."

He beat the coots and FSU. That's the best he could do.

It was a bitter sweet time to be a Tiger !

and then he'd lose to an awful Duke team the next week. Bowden is 100% the reason the term Clemsoning was born

It should be referred to as "Bowdening" rather than the other taboo word.

I don't understand all of the dogging on Bowden

Oct 20, 2015, 12:17 PM [ in reply to But it was the begining of the awakening. And a far shot ]

Yes, he occasionally coached teams that lost games in which we were favored, but I would bet that he won more games in which we were the dog and we won. He inherited a mess. He has, to my knowledge, not burned the bridge after he left like Rick Barnes did. Tommy represented Clemson with class and was entertaining. True, he did not take us to the Promised Land, but he helped build the foundation for what we have now. In my opinion, we would not be where we are now if it were not for Tommy. After all, he did hire a "former" coach banded Dabo to come back into coaching.

So quit being cootish and stop dogging on TB.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yes, which is why I wish tigernet would stop

Oct 20, 2015, 12:09 PM

Trolling us with his opinion.

Shorten it to Tommy'ing

Oct 20, 2015, 12:13 PM

West was a though coach to live through when at school.

Bowden was an unpredictable improvement and the real inventor of Clemsoning.

Forest Clemsoning that year (from among the other 10,000 or so) was the final nail in his coffin. But, if he really did recommend Dabo for the job, I'll give him credit for that. Tommy was a perfect example of a great recruiter who was just lost on the sidelines on gameday.
