6 carries by RBs in the entire second half, when the running game was working fine to begin with. No excuse abandoning the run and letting Clowney run rampant.
Stick with the gameplan man. And if the gameplan was to just outscore them and score as quickly as possible every drive, well thats just unacceptable.

and at least 3 to 6 we were behind with under 5 minutes left in the game.
The running game was effective, but we kept getting behind the chains. Its hard to run on 3rd & 5+.

Just a guess...

The running game worked last night. There is ZERO excuse for Ellington having so few carries. And it seemed that every pass play took forever. Where were the screens, the quick outs? Play calling was horrendous. We were never down more than a TD till the very end, why quit running? Panic and/or a bad game plan. Or just arrogance.

off to the fact this coaching staff couldn't care less about defense, toughness, or sticking to a gameplan.

We did have some drops and it was half-hearted effort going across the middle by our WR's last night. I believe they were worried about Swearinger.

We had one of the best running backs that we have ever had, Ellington and Chad feels that it is a sin if we do not throw every play! Last year at Maryland #23 ran for over 100 yards and over a 10 yard average in the first half and we kept passing. Last week vs nc state almost same thing. I like the long scoring plays thru the air, but we need balance and we take what the defense gives or cannot stop! Last night we scored our second td on 2 plays which was great, but it put our defense right back on the field. Our defense did not lose this game, it was our offensive coaching staff and their game plan! We were giving up almost 25 points a game this year and before the game I said they would score 28, and they scored 27. All are great offense had to do to win was outscore them with 28, not 62! After our reciever kept dropping the ball, we should have run it. Dabo. recruit a kicker that can put it out of the endzone!

Spencer benton's attempt at that 55 yarder a couple games ago spoke volumes about his leg strength. How he hit one from 61 I'll never know but what I do know is he can't do it now.
