I think EB is an outstanding players coach and a man who no doubt bleeds orange....But he's not top 5 from an analytics or situational manager perspective....and it's not even close. He's got some in game decision making he needs to get better at. But he's perfect for what we are trying to do at Clemson.

just cause they write or comment for a particular website/network. Much of them have no more qualification on the subject than you or I other than they have a personality fit for tv or radio. Not saying he is wrong cause I think EB has done a great job, but my defense wouldnt be a writer or network personality. Is Heather Dinnich an expert on football because she writes and does broadcasts for ESECPN

You didn’t talk a fraction of the trash you talk now as we became a program that couldn’t make the post season multiple seasons. Not really...Was he mismanaged? For sure...as was McCladdie...as was the first round draft pick Amick...
Errors such as not lifting Priest last night for a pinch runner as he promptly gets gunned at 3B...forcing Cannarella into the 3rd hole for nearly a quarter of the season when he should have been leading off...Not giving his high leverage relievers clean innings....Sh*t you yourself have complained about on here....There is nothing wrong with saying he needs to improve in some areas.

I think when you look at Clemson's roster vs some of the other elite teams you can see that Bakich is doing a good job. Clemson doesn't lack D1 Talent, but I don't see more than a couple guys who have a shot at playing in the MLB.
I watched Tennessee and Arkansas play on a Thursday night last week and Tennessee had 7 guys in their lineup with at least 11 home runs. Meanwhile Arkansas pitched 5-6 different guys and every single one of them threw 95+ mph. If you watch the Tennessees, Florida States, Arkansas, etc. these teams that are viewed as title contenders... they have a half dozen or more guys who throw absolute gas with a plus secondary pitch. They have power bats all through the lineup. They're future big leaguers and Clemson doesn't have too many of those guys right now outside of Cannarella and Knaak. And Bakich is still finding ways to win. I think he needs to continue building this roster and improving the team in certain spots, but a great coach finds ways to get it done despite the gaps.

I absolutely agree, the only thing he can really improve upon is hitting strategy and better pitching recruiting. Bakich was always a hitting coach/recruiter going back to his Vandy days, so it's understandable that he might not bring in the best arms compared to other top programs. I don't know how involved he is with hitting, so he might get a pass there too, but he controls the coaches, so that is a knock in that regard.
Right now, they're outplaying their expected wins by almost 6 games now, which I've always considered that if a coach can consistently find ways to win even with all of the struggles the team may have, he is definitely a good coach. He's got the team going 19-4 in 1- and 2-run games, so clearly, he's doing something right. I don't think but a handful of coaches in the country could have them sitting at 43 wins at this point.

I love EB and think he's a great coach but still wondering why he didn't pinch run for Priest. I said it out load to my wife right before the commentators said it, then EB comes out and I said he's gonna pinch run for him and then he does the old "313" smh. So glad it didn't cost us the game.

Honestly don't care what the talking heads say. We have a great coach and he's helping make this program prestigious again. People can complain all they want but I'd rather defer to the guy who has made it to the CWS Finals and who has made Clemson a perennial 40 win, playoff host again.

Talking heads, your fellow Clemson graduates and fans and
seemingly about 2/3rds of everyone in America loves to ##### and
moan about nearly everything nearly all the time. I am here bitching
about other Clemson fans, so I have the disease too. What an F'd up way to
be.
Meanwhile, pretty much across the board, Clemson athletics are at a high point.
For reference, in my first 9 years as a student and fan, we posted 8 losing seasons in football,
and basketball and were mediocre in nearly everything.
Accentuate the positives.
