I don't know about any of you but I miss

Nov 15, 2012, 8:05 AM

camping out for tickets. That was one the most fun things I experienced at college. I remember stealing seat cushions from my couch at The Reserve to have something to sleep on. Camping out with 1000 friends. And wondering how that white kid with the dreads always got in the front of the line. I am sure you guys that went to Clemson from 2005-2009 remember the student with the dreads. He was always there. It never failed.

Alex - I was lucky enough to be in his group, lol***

Thought you were going to say "The Washington Post"

"One of John Philip Souza's most famous marches"

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Ha! That kid with the dreads still has them but gets his

tickets from IPTAY now!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

How did that kid fit class into his schedule

Nov 15, 2012, 8:57 AM

He was always at a sporting event or waiting in line it seemed like.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It never failed, I would go park near the ticket office and

call my buddies and tell them no one was out there yet. Go to class at Tillman. Walk back and there he was. He was like the student with the crazy mohawk this year. He was always on camera. I can picture him now with that 10XL Basketball jersey right on the floor for basketball too.

There are 2 people I remember most from my tenure.

1. Dread guy
2. Annoying piccolo girl

I've always said the same thing

Now I certainly would have welcomed not camping out for tickets but it is also one of the things I remember fondly from my days at Clemson (most of the time when I say that people look at me like I'm crazy though). We camped out at the bottom of the Library (and occasionally at Littlejohn). Not a whole lot of tents since the buildings provided a "roof". Was a lot of fun.

This was back in the dark ages of the late 80s. Someone would usually bring a TV (commence the dance of the rabbit ear antennas) or games/cards were always popular. I (and everyone else) would always bring books but in the end never actually did a whole lot of studying.

We usually could pick up wireless internet

and someone would bring XBox with some NCAA. Good times!

"wireless internet" -Must be a recent grad!***

Of course we remember the kid with the dreads. Everyone on

Nov 15, 2012, 9:08 AM

T-Net used to trash him saying his look was "a bad representation of Clemson" and other assorted dumb a comments about the kid.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

"bad representation of Clemson"

Nov 15, 2012, 10:14 AM

Shows how much people know...Alex is a DIEHARD Clemson fan.

Tigerdrummer, if you were here during their years, which I

Nov 15, 2012, 10:18 AM

know you were, then I'm sure you remember the same tired debate that would arise about those two kids everytime a basketball game was on.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Did he have alot of tats?

Nov 15, 2012, 11:11 AM

With dreads and tats how the hell could this loser get a job?

We didn't have tents when I was in school. Camped out in makeshift paoer boxes in the snow. Good times!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The guy with the blond dreads (Justin) is my son. His friend Alex had the brown dreads. Justin has been to every game since as a Clemson graduate and yes he still has dreads. He was always able to get the front row because he camped out 3 days. He won fan contest for the most votes and won $1,000 back then and donated it to the West Zone. Go Tigers!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Good to hear, Sims. Hope you weren't on here much during

Nov 15, 2012, 10:05 AM

their years at Clemson when a-holes on here would disparage them getting TV time because a yuppie looking Clemson is the right Clemson image.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I remember the blonde guy also

Nov 15, 2012, 11:07 AM [ in reply to Re: I don't know about any of you but I miss ]

I don't know why people would say those things. I didn't know them personally, but I know their blood ran orange. I love my school but I don't think I could have donated $1000 to the WEZ as a student. That would have bought a lot of Ramen noodles for me. Glad to hear he did that though.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Ha ha! I'm not a CU grad and I know the white guy with dread***
