I guess maybe it’s just not seeing it very much anywhere I’ve ever lived…but watching this game and seeing so many grown men wearing cowboy hats just cracks me up…looks silly…not that there is anything wrong with it.

...in Texas, boots too. Also see it more in about all of the Western states beyond the Mississippi River, but not quite as proudly as in Texas. Yeah it's silly but the culture is very heavy with it. It's their way of dressing up.

No offense meant, but what non-Texans dont know about Texans would fill the LBJ library a few dozen times.
My daddy got rich drilling oil wells all over Texas and never wore a cowboy hat a day in his life. Didnt own one. He wore trucker caps, ropers, levis and polo button downs, smoked Marlboro Reds and kept a .410 snake charmer in the trunk of his DeVille. Only pixie sticks or transplants wear cowboy hats.
OAN. we lost a great game tonight. I aged 10
years. Maybe we can make it back to the final four next year.

...it's a thing. I've spent plenty of time in Texas, mostly Dallas area...it's a thing. Maybe they are pixie sticks and transplates, that's not the point...it's a thing.

baseball caps was a far cry from my youth during our annual vacations there.
In those days every man, boy wore a cowboy hat; you rarely saw baseball hats. Some of my kinfolk still wear the Stetsons; however, too dang many sport the baseball types.
What's silly to me is seeing grown men on horseback working cattle...and wearing baseball caps. YOU'RE A FREAKING TEXAN COWBOY, FOR GOD'S SAKE, WHERE IS YOUR COTTON-PICKING COWBOY HAT? lol
