I don't get the indignation over Richt's comment

What I saw was a person getting the keys to the city of Miami - and he talked about Clemson. He didn't take aim at Florida, FSU or Alabama, he went after the team that he apparently thinks is his biggest challenge for successful recruiting. It was more a compliment than a bash if you think about it.

If you're the Miami Chamber of Commerce it probably made you feel warm and fuzzy. If you're a recruit who isn't already sold on the Miami area, you probably didn't know he even said it unless you read Tigernet.

Chamber of Commerce while they were giving him an honor. No biggie.

Miami has had a beach forever. It hasn't helped them in recent years. Honestly, Miami's setting and distractions are a double edged sword- no doubt they are appealing to high school recruits but the coach probably doesn't want to talk them up too much because they generally cause distractions and trouble for his program.

The facilities at Miami are among the worst in the league.

You can't sell what you don't have.

It's akin to the Coots trying to sell quality academics or a tradition of winning in football.
