Here's a simple question...
Do you, as a republican I presume, really believe that it is a left-leaning position that players should be able to determine where they will attend school and play football (assuming, of course, that the program invites them)?
The portal is simply a stop-gap measure because programs and the NCAA don't want to treat players as employees. If you are going to take the position that they aren't employees then what possible right would you have to tell them they can't pursue their academic and athletic careers elsewhere? Your position is that them having that right is a "handout"?

I was under the assumption that players have always gotten to choose what school they wanted to attend and play football at. Am I wrong?
If you think it’s ok for players to jump from team to team every time they don’t get what they want then you’ve obviously never been part of a team. There’s a reason college football has had the rules it had up until the transfer portal was created. The sport is diving into chaos and it’s just going to get worse.

Oh and just remember, if you’re a true right winger you may not do any of the following:
Drive on roads
Use any electricity, it’s government controlled
Use any man made lakes, those were built by radical Democrats
Refuse to collect Social Security
Do you not go to national or state parks, our use any public land in anyway
Do not call the police, they are paid by the government
Do not join the military, you’ll be paid by peoples tax dollars
Take your kids out of public school, after all that’s other peoples money
Etc

I doubt you realize how stupid your post is .
So the roads i paid for I’m not supposed to drive on? Gas tax, $805 this year tax on my truck and $650 this year on my wife’s car. Is that just a contribution to the “build back better” plan? Or do I actually get something for that money?
Don’t call the police? What the heck does my property taxes go for?
And why am I paying for electricity?
Do I get to opt out of Social Security payments I make every month? I have no interest in Social Security and don’t care to pay for yours.
Public School? Why does our small business have to get butchered in school taxes and then turn around and have to pay even more property taxes to schools? Can I opt out?
