Taking SLR camera into Death Valley

Nov 9, 2012, 8:57 AM

Does anyone have any information or tips for me wanting to take my SLR camera with zoom lens into the stadium? I'd like to take my camera bag with me so that I don't just carry the large camera by itself, but last time I tried that they wouldn't let me take it into the stadium (that was about 2 years ago and it was a small backpack bag.). Are smaller camera bags that aren't backpacks allowed into the stadium? Or should I just take my camera without a bag.

All of this to say, I just don't want to get up to the gate and find out I have to run all the way back to my car to put something up that's not allowed into the stadium. I've checked Clemson's website but thought I'd ask on here too. I've been wanting to take pictures at a game this year and I'd like to this weekend.

Thanks!

I've taken my camera in lots of times with no problem and in the bag too.

I have taken mine in with a 200mm lens on several occasions,

but always without a bag. Weather should be OK so no problem.

I carry my camera and radio...

in a small JanSport fanny pack. No, I don't WEAR it, I just sling it over my shoulder. Never been told that I couldn't bring it in. Every once in a while a cop will ask to look in it, but once they see it's just a camera they are cool with it. I usually go in Gate 9. Hope that helps. Good luck.

They have restrictions on bags, but I've taken my camera in

without a bag this year.

I was told by a person at the gate that the only bags allowed in are those with only one strap (so not a bookbag) and there was some size restriction.

The first time I took my son to a game, he was almost 2. We tried to bring a diaper bag in and they wouldn't let us. However, they did hand us a huge trash bag and told us we could put the diaper bag and its contents into the trash bag and carry that around inside the stadium.

That made so much sense to me...

-bring a diaper bag in with supplies for your almost 2 year old = bad
-putting said bag and its contents into a solid brown trash bag and walking around looking like a homeless guy at a football game = good

Tell them it's a purse.

My wife takes a suitcase sized purse to the game and no one bats an eye.
