intentions were to get fired. He was unwilling to make any changes they were demanding. He probably like most college HC are getting tired of begging these paid players to show up and play
and for putting up with the social media snd fan base. Give me my 54 million and I’m gone.

Amen! You give me a guaranteed $54M and you would see me do my best until you no longer liked it. Then you would see nothing but the back of my pickup headed out to the ranch.

Sadly, you are probably right. It's just pathetic how greed is eating the sport alive. Take the Lane Kiffin situation. Here's a guy making plenty of $$$$, with a national contender. And he's most likely thinking of bolting for more $$$$. Everyone is leaving for more $$$$. It will come crashing down some day. More than likely, the SEC and Big10 will form a gigantic league and every other conference will slip into minor league status.

The coaches aren't the ones with the issues. The college/university administrations, their governing boards, and boosters/corporate sponsors that pump cash into the programs....they are the ones setting market value for both coaches and players. If Lane Kiffin leaves for more money....good for him. He needs to do what he feels is best for his family and career. If he gets fired in three years after going 7-5 at one of those places, hopefully he doesn't have any regrets. If he thinks his best opportunity to win a National Championship is at one of those other schools, he'll take it because he's an ambitious competitor that wants to reach the top.
