Next years basketball team will be the best yet

I keep hearing this said about next years team, but I don’t see that being the case. Simms, Trapp, Newman and Bhere leaving. One recruit already bailing out and younger player were not developed this year. PJ Hall played sparingly and Prosper not at all during the end of the season. So next year we will hear how young the team is and expectations must be tempered. It’s time to give the players a better chance to win than Coach Brownell’s excuses.

No way next year will be better; this year was supposed to

be the best, deepest, most talented team in decades, and if so, it was a big disappointment. I don't see how on earth we can expect it to be better next year; we lose our best player in Simms, with nobody of his caliber currently on the team capable of taking his place, and certainly no highly regarded recruit who appears capable. Maybe we get a surprise transfer or big-time recruit that changes that, but if not, look for another frustrating year of Clemson basketball.

We lose our best player in Simms yes. Other than that trap, baehre, and Newman didn’t do a whole lot TBH. Trapp was pretty good, but we definitely have an upgrade in the scoring dept with honor/Hemingway in the starting lineup instead of trap.
We will also be a more traditional team in that we will have a more true center starting rather than Aamir Simms playing out of position. At the very least we should be a better offensive team.

We had Honor/Hemenway THIS year ... if they are a better

option, why weren't they playing instead of Trapp this year? If that's the case, Brownlee is a biiger Bozo than I thought. See, we're not gaining Honor/Hemenway, we're losing Trapp. And if you are saying we will be better without Simms (because that's exactly what you are saying), I don't know how to respond to that.

Wait til Next Year... the coot cry forever! Can’t believe Brownell is still here

I actually grew up rushing home from church on Wednesday nights to see Clemson play the later game on the Pilot Life-later Jefferson Pilot network so I’ve been waiting a pretty good while. I was only a chap then and hardly remember Tree Rollins, Skip Wise, and Stan Rome. I do recall Tates Locke and the trouble he got in gor what today would not even be a serious violation but a slap on the wrist. I recall during Bill Foster’s and Cliff Ellis’ years we always seemed to have a big man inside. Even Rick Barnes did an incredible job with the slab-5 who were fun to watch. These teams back then went up against some of the greatest basketball talent ever in the ACC. The year Bill Foster had Billy Williams and that pull-up jumper of his I recall sitting in the Carolina Coliseum with my family decked out in orange as we best USC 61-60 when they had Hodges and I believe Zam Fredrick who led the nation in scoring. Anyway all this rambling just to say the closest we’ve ever been was the big eight and the loss to UCLA. Then there was the UCONN heartbreaker - rip-off loss we suffered to. Point is we have a good person in Coach Brownell and we should. He’s making pretty good money to be a good person. But we could do so much more and be so much better in terms of basketball success at Clemson. Once again if Jack Leggett, admittedly a friend, was told he had to go and visit other programs to see how a successful baseball program was run - a tremendous slap in the face by DRad who evidently didn’t know most programs were visiting Jack and Clemson to see how a program was to be run - then Brownell should visit five or six to show he knows there is room for improvement.

Please post a couple of links to where you heard it said that next year will be the best ever. Otherwise we have to assume you made it up to support your narrative. You said "hearing" instead of "heard" which makes it plural so please provide more than one link

team was the best we've had in a while, and that showed on the court also. Hopefully we can get a couple good transfers to boosts the team up next year cause we're looking soft.

This is the SCarolina football motto. Please don't bring this way of thinking into Clemson athletics!
