What they're really saying:

Losing in the SEC is more palatable for them than losing in the ACC.

I agree that they are wrong, but your reasoning is terrible.

Conferences ebb and flow in terms of how good they are. They are saying the ACC is a "cupcake league" NOW. Using their records in the ACC from 50 years ago means absolutely nothing. But the ACC went 2-0 in BCS bowls last year, so they are not correct.

In the BCS era, I think the ACC has improved to 5-13 in BCS Bowls after the two wins last year.

I love cupcakes. What is 1 Conference banner in 122 yrs of trying ? What is no major bowl games in that same muted history ? What is blaming your failures on the company you keep ? Or hiding behind that same company's successes ? I say that is all cupcake. One big Ol' chocolate cupcake with garnet sprinkles. The sadness cupcake.

besides, them schools got other countries to start wars so that our football players would have to fight rather than play them. They were skeered.
If it wasn't for that little known 2 day war of 1904 we would have hung 225 on Sewanee.

They're the 3rd toughest game on our schedule. We're the 2nd toughest game in their schedule. What does that tell you about the SEC East when Auburn from the west is the only team they play that's better than us.
For the record I think we're better than UGA who will win the East this year.

It's a basketball conference (and a good one). Football will never be a priority in the ACC.

And Miami and Pitt are both sub-mediocre programs now. Same goes for GT. Some teams in the ACC were good decades ago, but its been a long time.

All logical and objective football fans know that the ACC is, and has been for awhile, the 5th best of the 5 major conferences. From the 1950's through the 1990's the ACC was a much more competitive and powerful league than it is today. Miami, GaTech, UVA, and VaTech all were excellent programs even 20 years ago, but now? FSU and Clemson can play competitively with any league nationally, but not the rest of the league since 2000. Hopefully, UL, Pitt, and SU can be competitive, as the other schools try to right their ship.

Miami was sick as of 14 years ago. They were in the big east then though.
