Huge disparity in class rankings for SCar

Just looking at rivals class rankings and SCar is ranked 5th (we are fourth). They don't even crack the top 15 in ESPNs rankings.

Wasn't really worried about them but saw the rivals ranking and was suprised because I didn't think they were doing so well...and according to ESPN they aren't.

Who knows...the rankings really don't matter and the disparity between the two sites goes to show what a guessing game it is.

They are in a conference which historically has had a few great teams. They and the rest of the conference are propped up by their association with the elite. They will get the benefit of a doubt most of the time, whether they earn it or not.

Yes and because of that, they are usually overranked in just about everything and that is including academics. You would think their school of journalism is near the top but it is not.

check out where j c sherbert (sp) graduated college, he is pretty high up in Rivals and a guru when it comes to rating these classes. He seems pretty fair. But who knows?

JC Shurburtt is a national recruiting analyst for 247 Sports. Hasn't worked for Rivals in years.

It is all so subjective. I think that for the most part they get these rankings close on many prospects , but they miss a lot of really good players too.
