I'm biased but I think you'll have to use your entire playbook. This is the best defense you'll have played including Alabama's defense in last year's title game. This is easily the best offense Ohio State has ever faced in the playoff era. Should be a fun matchup.

Yeah, i have to agree. if you go into the OSU game thinking to save something for the Natty - well that is the epitome of hubris and you are just begging for a fall.
I feel confident that the coaching staff has no such illusions.
Besides, with either of those other defenses (OK & LSU) we could send them a copy of the playbook and it wouldn't matter. And in the 12 days between the games BV will design a whole new defense anyway.

Ohio State secondary can’t consistently cover Clemson’s receivers, so there won’t be much to the game plan outside of what Clemson has done all season. OSU won’t just be able to load the box & keep their CB’s on islands like they’re able to do against the teams on their schedule. Clemson’s offense will have its way with OSU, and Clemson’s defense will totally dominate. This game won’t be close.

This sounds a lot like drinking the rat poison.
I figure we'll show enough to get the job done, and if they means every trick play on every page of the playbook, so be it. Gotta play like it's the last game of the season and you can't hold anything back, right up until it's not.
I hope it's a blowout an we can do whatever we want, but to expect that is perilously close to believing your own hype. Do that and you forget to play hard.

Run up the score in the first half, come out blasing in the third qtr then kick it out of gear and save our legs for the final.
We can run over OSU with our base sets. Nothing fancy just knock them on their butts with a mix of runs, short, midrange and long passes. When they back off the LOS run Trevor and force them back in the box.

LOL. Good luck. Funniest thing Ive heard in a while "We can run over OSU with our base sets." Wow obviously you haven't watched any football outside Clemson or the ACC and if so then you don't really understand it. Wow, I came across this message board on my feed a couple days about OSU and man this board is crazy definitely worth a couple laughs. Ill be honest its going to be a game won and lost on the line. Neither team wins by more than two scores. Both are ranked in the top five in almost every category. LOL, we can run over OSU with our base sets, again good luck. Its not 2016 when OSU lines up on third down and just runs barrett every time. Also not sure if you've ever heard of a man named Chase Young and if Jackson Carmen finds some success blocking Chase, which I assume he will win some battles because hes a hell of an OT but not everyone one they will have a 5 star recruit Zach Harrison and 4 star recruit Tyreke Smith on the other side that's not including the 4 star recruits in the middle. They also have physical DB's and one of the best DB's in the country. Clemson has some very good receivers so it'll be interesting watching that matchup. Good Luck with Clemson not using their entire playbook and saving some for LSU. I really hope they do save some for LSU.

Not really relying on star power. OSU's D line is extremely good, maybe not as good as Clemson last year but its not far off. Just think its funny how everyone on this board talks about respect and the lack thereof for Clemson and then goes on the disrespect the teams they play. I mean really to say Clemson can play base off and def and beat this OSU team is ridiculous. Not even sure why I responded because the post says Clemsons will essentially be successeful in throwing the short ball, middle of the field ball and long ball and also be able to run the ball and after they score enough will back off and just run. So really what wont Clemson off be able to do. Just thought it was pretty funny. Also just threw in the star ratings since Clemson fans may not know these players as well as chase young. Their all pretty good players. Regardless I think itll be a good game and Clemson has a good team and coach but don't sleep on this OSU team their really good definitely better than a team you can beat with a base def or off and team Clemson will have to use their entire playbook on.

Maybe Buck. Three years ago Clemson was maligned by most Buckeye fans and media and given little chance of victory. As underdogs, we both know what happened next. 31-0. This year after hearing how dominant the Buckeyes are, Vegas surprisingly has the Buckeyes as the underdog despite the Buckeyes having ten times the alums and bettors. Last year, Bama was favored in the final. Quinnen Williams received all the publicity as the GOAT DT. We know how that ended. The entire Clemson O has returned. This team goes to the playoffs every year.
Will Ohio St players be nervous? rattled? too jacked up? It's just another playoff game for Clemson. Lets see what happens.

Crazy thing is I don't really care about last year or 2016. I thought osu shouldn't went and I knew Clemson was going to beat osu that year. The offense was one dimensional with barrett. I told a couple osu people Penn State should have went that year. It's 2019 both teams look real good we will see what happens.

I’ve watched OSU all season they’re nothing more than last year’s Notre Dame team with a QB that can run. Clemson is going to roll through this game with ease. You can continue parroting ESPN’s easy schedule bull crap narrative, but I assure you it’s going to get you nowhere but disappointed. Clemson is not one the slow, lethargic teams from the B1G that lack good QB play, and have no speed at LB or DB. OSU is going to have a very rude wake up call next weekend.

I said last year leading up to the first playoff game that the ND team reminded me much of the BC team Clemson played, and of course I was told by ND fans on here how crazy I was to even think that. I was told how dominant their secondary was , how tough they were up front on both sides of the ball, how good their running back was and how he was a home run threat, and blah blah blah. I wasn’t wrong. The only reason they even scored 3 was because of a stupid double safety blitz on third & long that was thrown over on a slip screen, then a bogus PI call on the same drive. Otherwise it was a shutout. I’m not wrong about OSU either. The only difference in them this year & ND last year is the mobility of Fields. That’s it. I respect that you’re a fan that really believes his team can win, but you really don’t realize how much better Clemson is than every other team in the country. I assure you, barring turnovers, Clemson is going to have this game wrapped up by the third quarter and will be playing backups to end the game.

Lol Notre dames average margin of victory last year was 16.5 points every year they play mediocre offense and ok defense. I mean seriously to compare osu to Notre dame last year is ridiculous. I've watched alot of Clemson football as well. Their a very food football team but come on. I guarantee you the starters will be playing in the fourth quarter. I'm given Clemson their respect there good but man I really can't wait to see what happens when they get smacked in the mouth the first time by osu.

Man I think your right why not think Clemson is going to throttle this osu team instead of it being a close game when osu has averaged 48.7 points a game vs Clemson' s 46.5 and an osu defense that ranks 2nd and Clemson ranked 1st. Man osu may only score 6 points this game when their averaging 48.7. Seriously osu won't score 48.7 against Clemson but i think your the one who is either just a homer or doesn't understand football. By the way Clemson defense has 37 sacks vs osu 51 sacks this year. TL better get that ball out quick.

Lol I said it's going to be a good close game and both teams are good. If I was the most overconfident fan I would probably be more like you and think my team was going to dominate and sit the starters in the third quarter. Seriously Clemson fans are worse than cocky Alabama fans. Can't wait to see what Clemson does when osu smacks em in the mouth the first time. Trust me when I tell you this will be a close game decided in the fourth quarter. I've seen a ton of Clemson games this year and you better hope TL don't throw picks like he did at the beginning of the season.

guy has been on here everyday talking about how we're going to whip you. Today is the first I've seen him say he's watched OSU all year, then he continues to say they're not that good. I've watched OSU too. You have elite athletes all over the field, and I dont think either team has a glaring strength or weakness versus the other. OSU is not ND from last year or 2016. You are far better now. Uncle is sipping the orange koolaid if he thinks this is going to resemble any team we've played this year. I personally am not comfortable with his bravado, but then again fans opinions don't affect the game.

I never said they’re not good. Clemson’s is just that much better. I caught flack before the 31-0 game too when I said Clemson by 20+, and again last year when I said Clemson by double digits against Alabama. OSU is a good team....Clemson is just elite. Clemson is going to roll OSU and LSU both.

Couldn't agree with you more. Clemson s a very good team with some of the best coaches. It may come down to who has the ball last and who makes the least amount of mistakes. Osu fumbled quite a bit the last few games and TL threw some early season picks but i think he got it figured out. Should be a great game.

On offense I don't think we'll need to show anything tricky - just the same things we've done all year..... if anything, add in some slants and TE seam routes in the passing game to take advantage of the holes in the middle of OSU's coverage like Wisconsin did.
On defense, I think we'll need to throw the book at them. They are going to break a few running plays - particularly if they catch us in a 3-front..... and they are probably going to burn us with their TE on the seam/post.
I think out offense will cover any points allowed.

Of course you think OSU will win..... no disrespect intended, but you're like all the other OSU numb-nuts I've ever met. You all think the world revolves around THE Ohio State University, but your history against playing Clemson ain't so hot.
And another thing - your precious Chase Young ain't so hot either. He reminds me of Jadaveon Clowney in the way he takes off plays - particularly when he's chasing from the backside...... he just stops trying and becomes a bystander.

I'm a osu fan I'll be honest if I was a Clemson fan I would think Clemson by 3. Both teams are very similar and both really good. Just think it's stupid when I hear Clemson fans say they'll win by two or more scores or osu fans say tell win by two or more scores. Should be a good game and the winner should win it all.
To be honest Clemson d isn't the tornoda it was last year but osu d is definitely close

Buck, you're correct that both teams are good, but I'm afraid you're overly encouraged by the improvement at OSU and not recognizing the explosive nature of Clemson - both on offense and defense.
Clemson's offense is a juggernaut which has not been completely released on anyone this year. You just might get to see it against OSU.
Our defense is also incredibly good. There is a swashbuckling gambler side to it which might cost us on a few plays, but we're willing to take our chances that our defense can control a game and if not, our offense can blow away anyone we play.
